In this manuscript, we conducted a comprehensive review of the diverse effects peppermint on human health and explored potential underlying mechanisms. Peppermint contains three main groups phytochemical constituents, including essential oils (mainly menthol), flavonoids (such as hesperidin, eriodictyol, naringenin, quercetin, myricetin, kaempferol), nonflavonoid phenolcarboxylic acids. exhibits antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-cancer, anti-aging, analgesic properties may be effective in treating various disorders, gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, constipation, functional nausea/vomiting, gallbladder stones). addition, has therapeutic benefits for psychological cognitive health, dental urinary retention, skin wound healing, well anti-depressant anti-anxiety effects, it improve memory. However, paradoxical sleep quality alertness, been shown to patients with fatigue anxiety, while also increasing alertness under conditions monotonous work relaxation. Lavender is one of the most appreciated aromatic plants, with high economic value in food, cosmetics, perfumery, and pharmaceutical industries. essential oil (LEO) known to have demonstrative antimicrobial, antioxidant, therapeutic, flavor fragrance properties. Conventional extraction methods, e.g., steam distillation (SD) hydro-distillation (HD), been traditionally employed extract LEO. Edible films based on biopolymers are used to protect food from adverse environmental factors. However, their ample use may be hindered by some challenges mechanical and antimicrobial properties. To solve this problem, possible option is fill the biopolymer matrix of with functional filler that combines high reinforcing In work, biocomposite mixture chitosan cassava starch were filled hybrid form bentonite clay particles loaded ginger essential oil (GEO) structure varied concentrations. For purpose, GEO components intercalated into interlayer space using capture approach without surface-active toxic agents. The loading efficiency obtained analyzed lyophilization laser analysis dispersions, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis. optical scanning electron energy dispersive under tension, disk diffusion method for activity. results demonstrated tensile strength, Young’s modulus, elongation at break, effect increased 40%, 19%, 44%, 23%, respectively, compared unfilled film when concentration was 0.5–1 wt.%.
