Abstract Trimethyl borate (TMB) is crucial for applications ranging from organic synthesis to borohydride production, requiring efficient separation methanol optimal use. This study examines the effectiveness of pervaporation using blend membranes composed chitosan (CS) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) in various ratios order enhance TMB/methanol mixtures. Comprehensive characterizations these membranes, addressing aspects like structural morphology, thermal crystalline nature were carried out techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), contact angle measurements, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray Diffraction Analysis (XRD). Pervaporation experiment conducted varying feed compositions, operational temperatures PVP ratios. Evaluations revealed a noticeable improvement permeation flux with increased content. Two different blended subjected cross-linking procedures carefully evaluate its influence on their performance. The crosslinked PVP-CS-1 membrane showed good performance, achieving 146.37 selectivity. performance was achieved an utilizing PVP-CS-2 at 45°C, employing mixture 75 wt% TMB-25 methanol, resulting recorded value 335.44 g/m2h. Furthermore, exhibited excellent stability during 5 run experiment, showcasing robust mechanical chemical stability.

Driven by the diverse functionalization of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) and advanced membrane preparation technologies, a tremendous progress in HNTs-polymer nanocomposite membranes has been made during last dozen years. Yet even with these achievements, an elaborate comprehensive overview on rational design membranes, their various application areas as well corresponding performance status is still missing. Herein, we provide timeline ongoing research then outline on: (1) versatile methods HNTs for state-of-the-art membranes. (2) key routes to prepare influences modified structures performances. Efforts have been focused on the membrane synthesis, specifically enhancing properties through incorporation of zeolites into a polymer matrix. This study emphasizes development sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC)/poly(vinylpyrrolidone-co-vinyl acetate) [P(Vp-co-VAc)] matrix composite membranes via solution casting method, incorporating varying amounts silicotungstic acid (STA) (5, 10, and 15 wt.%) for pervaporation dehydration water-isopropanol mixture. The developed films were characterized by FTIR, DSC, TGA, XRD SEM techniques. Among all STA-loaded membranes, optimum performance was observed in MSTA15 membrane, which had flux equal to 0.533 kg/m2 h at 35 ºC separation factor 118.52 40 wt.% feed composition. exhibits good hydrophilic nature molecular sieve effect. Furthermore, showed improved compared pristine membranes. These results this suggested that act as prominent materials effective isopropanol.
