Subjective age, that is the age a person feels like in relation to their chronological indicative of variety biological, psychological, and social aging processes. Despite its importance, studies investigate multi-variate, dynamic, longitudinal relations subjective with potential determinants mechanisms these have so far rarely been employed. In current study, we focus on loneliness as determinant. As affects psychosocial health outcomes across life stereotypically perceived feature old whether related levels changes age. We furthermore test this association mediated via self-reported stress. N = 5,594 participants aged 18 – 93 years ( M 50.41, SD 15.99) who participated survey comprising up three measurement occasions over time span 2.5 reported loneliness, stress well sociodemographic health-related covariates. employed latent growth modeling found that, when controlling for covariates, higher was an older cross-sectionally steeper increase time. These were stress; however, between no longer statistically significant including All associations qualified by interactions albeit different directions. Our findings attest experiences highlight need age-informed approach planning further interventions.

Abstract As organizations face an ageing workforce, it is crucial to understand the role of leaders' age in their interactions with employees. Seminal theories on cast as a key factor shaping individuals' interpersonal behaviours, for example when handling conflicts. We integrate this notion insights from generativity research investigate active conflict management strategies through two distinct pathways. Depending leader's generativity, may differentially shape both perceptions leader‐member exchange (LMX) quality and emotion regulation knowledge, thereby advancing either more constructive or destructive approaches towards employee Results Study 1, time‐lagged study 303 leaders, revealed that negatively related LMX and, thus, conflicts—but only among leaders lower generativity. 2, cross‐sectional 84 leader‐employee teams, positively associated which turn management—but higher Our findings reveal mechanisms linking leader underscore boundary condition these relationships.

We examined age differences in the within-person relationships among perceived stress (PS), reactivity (PSR), and depressive affect (DA) as well potential mechanisms of depression with a longitudinal moderated mediation model. Participants from Notre Dame Study Health & Wellbeing ( N = 572) completed two to four waves yearly assessments. Sequentially built multilevel models, which year was nested within person, illustrated that only midlife adults experience an exacerbated effect fluctuations PSR on relationship between PS DA levels (γ 41 –.004, p < .01). Findings further suggest accounts for PS–DA relationship. Furthermore, older illustrate successful emotion regulation strategies at level—resisting negative ramifications years greater PSR, whereas who would particularly benefit management interventions monitoring levels.

Abstract Background Stress plays a pivotal role in physical health. Although many studies have linked stress reactivity (daily within-person associations between exposure and negative affect) to health outcomes, we know surprisingly little about how changes are related Purpose The current study examines change over 18 years is functional chronic conditions. Methods Three measurement bursts from the National Study of Daily Experiences (N = 2880; 55% female) each included daily measures stressor affect across 8 consecutive days, yielding 33 944 days data adulthood. At wave, participants reported their limitations (ie, basic activities living [ADL] instrumental [IADL]) Multilevel structural equation models simultaneously modeled at Level 1, longitudinal 2, association conditions 3. Results Higher levels baseline were associated with more later (ADLs: Est. 0.90, P .001; IADLs: 1.78, < .001). Furthermore, individuals who increased 18-year period also showed greater increases 4.02, .017; 5.74, .001) (Est. 11.17, .008). Conclusions These findings highlight strong connection life, they travel together

Examining loneliness and social isolation during population-wide historical events may shed light on important theoretical questions about age differences, including whether these differences hold across different regions the time course of unfolding event.
