Abstract The Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) has emerged out the quantitative approach to psychiatric nosology. Emerging evidence suggests that partially distinct mechanisms may underlie the association between different dimensions of early life adversity (ELA) and psychopathology in children adolescents. While there is minimal types ELA are associated with specific outcomes, unique cognitive socioemotional consequences increase transdiagnostic risk mental health problems across internalizing externalizing spectra. In this work, we expand the normative model repository introduced in Rutherford et al., 2022a to include models charting lifespan trajectories of structural surface area and brain functional connectivity, measured using two unique resting-state network atlases (Yeo-17 Smith-10), an updated online platform for transferring these new data sources. We showcase value with a head-to-head comparison between features output by modeling raw several benchmarking tasks: mass univariate group difference testing (schizophrenia versus control), classification regression (predicting general cognitive ability). Work at the intersection of philosophy and psychiatry has an extensive influential history, received increased attention recently, with emergence professional associations a growing literature. In this paper, we review key advances in work on psychiatry, their related clinical implications. First, understanding categorizing mental disorder, both naturalist normativist considerations are now viewed as important – psychiatric constructs necessitate consideration facts values. At conceptual level, integrative view encourages moving away from strict scientism to soft naturalism, while practice facilitates evidence‐based values‐based health care. Second, considering nature science, there is increasing emphasis pluralist approach, including ontological, explanatory value pluralism. Conceptually, approach acknowledges multi‐level causal interactions that give rise psychopathology, clinically it emphasizes importance broad range “difference‐makers”, well “lived experience” research practice. Third, questions about brain‐mind, how somatic psychic factors contribute development maintenance disorders, empirical embodied cognition provides increasingly valuable approach. Viewing brain‐mind embodied, embedded enactive offers mind‐body problem integration cognitive‐affective neuroscience phenomenological psychopathology.
