Plastic pollution is now a major environmental issue that has significant impact on ecosystems all around the world. The aim of this research was to examine ecotoxicological effects plastic aquatic water bodies and terrestrial habitats, in urban centers waste disposal sites Malete Community, Kwara State, Nigeria. samples were collected from three sampling points with following coordinates, (Latitude 8° 71' 8" longitude 4° 46' 8"), 80 70' Longitude 40 8") they tagged 1, 2 3 respectively, done as representative ecosystems. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis well chemical characterization carried out using standard procedures methodologies. Interestingly, sample 1 high levels compounds, benzene (8.3%) ethylbenzene (22.6, %) styrene (45.2%), known have harmful impacts life. presence 1-Octene (18.9%) 1-Nonene (22.6%) Sample indicated possibility biomagnification through food chain. ethyl terephthalate (25.9%), ethylene glycol (19.3%), which are compounds associated toxicity, evident 3.
