ABSTRACT
Although
decades
of
research
have
deepened
our
understanding
the
proximate
triggers
and
ultimate
drivers
migrations
for
a
range
taxa,
how
populations
establish
remains
mystery.
However,
recent
studies
begun
to
illuminate
interplay
between
genetically
inherited
learned
migrations,
opening
door
evaluation
migration
may
be
learned,
established,
maintained.
Nevertheless,
migratory
species
where
role
learning
is
evident,
we
lack
comprehensive
framework

routes

movements
over
time
(i.e.,

origins).

review
draws
on
advances
in
behavioural

Abstract
How
the
migration
behavior
of
long-lived
birds
develops
throughout
their
life
is
still
a
research
question
in
ornithology
that
largely
unanswered.
Here,
we
analyzed
GPS
data
70
juvenile
Black
Storks
during
first
3
years
to
determine
influence
age
and
experience
on
patterns.
We
focused
choice
flyway,
as
well
movements
wintering
area,
changes
departure
times
with
increasing
age.
Migratory
routes

were
divided
into
western
(82%

tracked

flyways
