The capacity to pay attention underpins all subsequent cognitive development. However, we understand little about how control is instantiated in the developing brain real-world settings. We recorded naturalistic patterns, together with autonomic arousal and activity, 5- 10-month-old infants during free play. examined whether changes activity associate moment-by-moment attentional engagement, they anticipate changes, or follow on from them. Early infancy, slow-varying fluctuations forward-predicted behaviours. Later fronto-central theta power after but not before an shift associated infants’ attentiveness, predicted length of durations modulated arousal. Together, our results suggest that modulation involves both arousal-based cortical processes what developmental time these lower- higher-order endogenous factors modulate attention. Developments in cognitive neuroscience have led to the emergence of hyperscanning, simultaneous measurement brain activity from multiple people. Hyperscanning is useful for investigating social cognition, including joint action, because its ability capture neural processes that occur within and between people as they coordinate actions toward a shared goal. Temporal coordination during infant-caregiver social interaction is thought to be crucial for supporting early language acquisition and cognitive development. Despite a growing prevalence of theories suggesting that increased inter-brain synchrony associates with many key aspects interactions such as mutual gaze, little known about how this arises Here, we investigated the role gaze onsets potential driver synchrony. We extracted dual EEG activity around naturally occurring in N = 55 dyads (mean age 12 months). differentiated between two types onset, depending on each partners' role. 'Sender' were defined at time when either adult or infant made shift towards their partner was already looking them (mutual) not (non-mutual). 'Receiver' Contrary our hypothesis found that, naturalistic interaction, both non-mutual associated changes sender, but receiver's brain increases above baseline. Further, mutual, compared inter Overall, results suggest effects are strongest intra-brain level, 'sender' 'receiver' gaze.

Electroencephalograph (EEG) hyperscanning allows studying Interpersonal Neural Synchrony (INS) between two or more individuals across different social conditions, including parent-infant interactions. Signal pre-processing is crucial to optimize computation of INS estimates; however, few attempts have been made at comparing the impact dyadic EEG data methods on estimates. collected 31 mother-infant dyads (8-10 months) engaged in a Face-to-Face Still-Face Procedure were pre-processed with versions same pipeline, "automated" and "manual". Cross-frequency PLV theta (3-5Hz, 4-7Hz) alpha (6-9Hz, 8-12Hz) frequency bands computed after automated manual compared through Pearson's correlations Repeated Measures ANOVAs. PLVs theta, but not alpha, band significantly higher than pre-processing. Moreover, pipeline rejected lower percentage ICs epochs pipeline. While no direct comparison existing pipelines was made, this first study assessing methodological decisions, particularly degree automatization, cross-frequency dataset dyads. Music can effectively influence human emotions, with different melodies and rhythms eliciting varying emotional responses. Among these, tempo is one of the most important parameters affecting emotions. This study explores impact music on states associated brain functional networks. A total 26 participants without any history neurological or psychiatric disorders training took part in experiment, using classical piano clips at tempi (56, 106, 156 bpm) as stimuli. The was conducted scales electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis. results showed that valence level emotions significantly increased tempo, while arousal exhibited a "V" shape relationship. EEG analysis revealed significant changes brainwave signals across frequency bands under tempi. For instance, slow induced higher Theta Alpha power frontal region, fast Beta Gamma band power. Moreover, enhanced average connectivity strength frontal, temporal, occipital regions, phase synchrony value (PLV) between parietal regions. However, improves PLV findings this elucidate effects networks related to emotion regulation, providing theoretical basis for music-assisted diagnosis treatment mood disorders. Furthermore, these suggest potential applications robotics, emotion-based human-computer interaction, intelligent control.
