Background This longitudinal study with multi‐informant (maternal, paternal, and experimenter) multimethod (questionnaires, behavioral observations, standardized assessments) data tests an intergenerational model from mothers' adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) to their children's socio‐emotional cognitive outcomes. Methods Participants were 501 children (50.7% male) caregivers (56.5% white) followed child age 2 months 5 years. Mothers reported on ACEs, as well postnatal socio‐economic status (SES), marital conflict, depressive symptoms. Observers rated maternal sensitivity using validated coding systems. Partners' history of conduct problems emotional by mothers fathers, cognition was assessed experimenters assessments. Results Maternal ACEs score associated outcomes through unique intermediary pathways. Specifically, related emotion SES, paternal problems, depression. operated via conflict. skills SES sensitivity. Conclusions economic stress, may collectively strain families, diverting caregiver attention resources, which impact childrearing development. To effectively address root causes risks, it is critical advocate for resources supports that mitigate these hardship conditions. In addition, interventions target modifiable individual family factors hold the greatest promise breaking cycles generational risk promoting healthier families.

The current meta-analysis examined the mediating role of sensitive-responsive parenting in relationship between depression mothers and internalizing externalizing behavior children. A systematic review path maternal sensitive responsiveness to child psychopathology identified eligible studies. Meta-analytic structural equation modelling (MASEM) allowed for examination magnitude indirect effect across 68 studies (N = 15,579) 92 26,218) psychopathology. synthesized sample included predominantly White, English-speaking children (age range 1 205 months; Mage 66 47% female) from Western, industrialized countries. pathway was small similar (b .02) .01). Moderator analyses found that problems stronger when mother-child interactions were observed during naturalistic free-play tasks rather than structured tasks. Other tested moderators not significant.

Abstract Driver’s risk perception ability is of great significance to traffic safety. reflected in the handling situation and has a impact on driving decisions, especially speed decisions. However, mechanism influence decisions under situations still unclear. According standardized test, we divided drivers into high (H-RPA) group low (L-RPA) group. Participants were shown pictures with different levels asked make about whether slow down, while their electrical brain responses recorded. All participants interviewed after experiment. The results showed that low-risk situation, compared H-RPA, L-RPA made less deceleration evoked larger N1 smaller P1 amplitude. 93.75% stated interviews they did not notice risks road. show affects allocation attention situations, leading decrease safety Our research provide reference for training safe skills drivers.

The relationship between children and their caregivers is essential for the development of social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic skills. This especially critical with complex communication needs who use augmentative alternative (AAC), as parents play a crucial role in supporting AAC integration within home. However, communicating child uses does not come naturally requires learning several specific Various training programs have shown that, appropriate training, can develop skills necessary to become effective partners support at paper analyzes overlap existing parent identify core competencies partners. By extracting these fundamental skills, this aims guide practitioners design sessions. Key strategies include responsivity, environmental arrangements, wait time, aided modeling, prompting, feedback.

Abstract Meta-analyses demonstrate that the quality of early attachment is modestly associated with peer social competence ( r = .19) and externalizing behavior −.15), but weakly internalizing symptoms −.07) across development (Groh et al., Child Development Perspectives, 11 (1), 70–76, 2017). Nonetheless, these reviews suffer from limitations undermine confidence in reported estimates, including evidence for publication bias lack comprehensive assessments outcome measures longitudinal studies literature. Moreover, theoretical claims regarding specificity predictive significance variation socioemotional versus academic outcomes had not been evaluated when analyses this report were registered (but see Dagan , 1–20, 2023; Deneault Developmental Review, 70 101093, 2023). To address limitations, we conducted a set to evaluate validity infant two landmark Strange Situation: Minnesota Longitudinal Study Risk Adaptation (MLSRA) NICHD Early Care Youth (SECCYD). Across-time composite reflecting teacher report, mother self-reports each measure created. Bivariate associations between security MLSRA comparable to, or slightly weaker than, those recent meta-analyses, whereas SECCYD outcomes. Controlling four demographic covariates, partial correlation coefficients all ≤ .10 .15 both samples. Compositing Situations at ages 12 18 months did substantively alter MLSRA, though three different increase coefficients. Associations skills unexpectedly (SECCYD) larger than observed respect

Considering the need for a brief but valid screening measure in infant attachment, we aimed to examine psychometric quality of Cadman et al.'s (2018) Brief Attachment Scale-16 (BAS-16) Turkish mother-child samples. The validity BAS-16 was examined two independent samples based on its associations with well-established constructs attachment security and maternal sensitivity, child adjustment, temperament measures, namely, Q-Set (AQS), Maternal Behavior (MBQS), Child Checklist (CBCL), Emotionality, Activity, Sociability Temperament Survey (EAS), respectively. results Study 1 indicated that total scores were significantly correlated AQS, sensitivity MBQS, marginally externalizing problems assessed CBCL not temperament. 2, aiming cross-validate findings 1, mainly supported initial findings. 2 subscale strongly AQS scores, Harmonious Interaction (HI) related HI associated behavior problems. from studies suggest has adequate assessing infant/child samples, representing non-WEIRD cultural context, can be used as practical tool.
