Although the concept of circular economy as a term was first mentioned in 2015, when "Action Plan for economy" adopted at European level, it is still not possible to speak sufficient knowledge base this area. The Action (COM (2015) 614) can be seen an initial strategic document that sets out concrete and ambitious roadmap implementing Sustainable Development Agenda 2030. However, Green Agreement cannot left context either (COM(2019) 640). It new growth strategy transform EU into fair prosperous society with modern, competitive, resource-efficient economy, net greenhouse gas emissions expected zero by 2050 economic independent resource use. A action plan - Towards cleaner more competitive Europe also 2020 (COM(2020) 98). main priority areas are measures focusing on value chains key products electronics ICT (information communication technologies), batteries vehicles, plastics, textiles, packaging, construction buildings, food, water nutrients covering all links chain from production consumption, repair refurbishment, waste management up return raw materials back their use cycle form secondary materials. transition includes revision directives: waste, packaging landfills, accumulators used accumulators, electrical electronic equipment. The need to balance ecosystems and ensure the well-being of all people underlines urgency closing product life cycles. In recent years, circular economy (CE) has emerged as one most relevant factors in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) waste management efficiency at European level.Furthermore, it standard data envelopment analysis (DEA) 27 countries over period 2017-2021, focused on municipal waste.Three models (i.e., economic, technical, sustainable) are proposed optimise rates recycling material use.The SLR, based an initial set 216 articles that was subsequently refined through double screening 31, highlights strategic role management, solid triangle. The results DEA indicate stronger synergy between technical sustainability dimensions than economic components. Moreover, they highlight fragmented performance Europe, with distinct clusters emerging top performers each three models, Netherlands, Slovenia, France, Italy, Germany Sweden demonstrating superior for both CE outcomes sustainable performance.Overall, emphasise played by technology facilitating efficient model minimise landfilling other environmentally detrimental practices, thereby stimulating development communities optimised line broader objectives.

Municipal solid waste (MSW) management is a global concern, especially in low–middle-income countries such as Pakistan, which require the redressal of MSW treatment issues to attain sustainability sector. The prosperity municipal collectors, i.e., sanitary workers, critical hierarchy. Hence, health, safety, social welfare, economic conditions and overall wellbeing this tier need be focused on more. Safeguarding interests workers will support sector sustainability, help generate revenue minimize climatic impacts. An innovative business model with ownership technological intervention has excellent potential towards circular economy fifth most populous country world, generating about 100,000 metric tons per day. proposed recycling ensure daily material recovery 26,070 4721 compost manufacturing country, ultimately helps achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) meeting targets nationally determined contributors (NDCs) by 2030. Abstract Assessing the eco‐efficiency of municipalities regarding provision solid waste services is a useful tool for improving its sustainability. However, robust, and reliable methods are needed to benchmark performance municipalities. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) typically used assess municipal (MSW) service providers. variables in assessment bear distinct weights each individual unit, limiting thus interpretation. Therefore, benchmarking MSW providers becomes challenging because different conditions applied. Thus, this study uses common set DEA (DEA‐CSW) model providing services. Eco‐efficiency scores were estimated by integrating total costs, recycled unsorted as input, desirable outputs undesirable outputs, respectively. The empirical application demonstrated that when using DEA‐CSW, only one municipality (out 36) was eco‐efficient managing MSW. weightings inputs allocated based on degree satisfaction municipality. Satisfaction ranged from 0.829 1.000 indicating none heavily penalized estimation allocating weights. In conclusion, demonstrates compared traditional models, DEA‐CSW approach more adequate at

Sustainability and optimizing waste management efficiency through circular economy principles have become significant trends in recent research. This study aims to compare the within framework selected Central East European countries. To achieve this, research employs Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) Fractional Regression Analysis, specifically using Slack-Based Measurement model. model measures by referencing inefficient Decision-Making Units (DMUs) rather than origin of coordinate system. Key variables such as GDP per capita, growth rate, indicators were analyzed Eurostat data from 2010 2022. The findings reveal varying potentials for improving hazardous non-hazardous countries investigated. Additionally, differences mutual influence variable on are identified Analysis. These insights emphasize pivotal role advancing policies.
