exposure
microplastics

and
nanoplastics
(NPs).
While
their
general
health
impacts
are
well-documented,
the
specific
effects
on
cardiovascular
remain
underexplored.

Abstract
The
limited
available
data
on
human
internal
exposure
poses
a
significant
challenge
in
assessing
the
risks
associated
with
micro
and
nanoplastics
(MNPs)
to
health.
A
contributing
factor
this
is
scarcity
of
sensitive
analytical
methods
quantify
mass
concentration
plastic
polymers
blood.
In
study
we
present
an
improved
validated
method
for
quantitatively
analysing
polyethylene
(PE),
terephthalate
(PET),
poly(vinyl
chloride)
(PVC),
poly(methyl
methacrylate)
(PMMA),
polypropylene,
polystyrene
whole
blood
samples.
We
introduce
apply
stringent
quality
assurance
control
procedures,
including
validation
using
samples
continuous
monitoring
batch
analyses
ensure
reliability.
Expanding
upon
prior
pioneering
work
by
Leslie
et
al.
(2022),
optimised
pyrolysis-gas
chromatography–mass
spectrometry
(Py-GC-MS)

Abstract
Emerging
evidence
indicates
that
chemical
exposures
in
the
environment
are
overlooked
drivers
of
cardiovascular
diseases
(CVD).
Recent
suggests
micro-
and
nanoplastic
(MNP)
particles
derived
largely
from
or
mechanical
degradation
plastics
might
represent
a
novel
CVD
risk
factor.
Experimental
data
preclinical
models
suggest
MNPs
can
foster
oxidative
stress,
platelet
aggregation,
cell
senescence,
inflammatory
responses
endothelial
immune
cells
while
promoting
range
metabolic
alterations
lead
to
disease
premature
death.

humans,
various
plastics,
including
polyethylene
polyvinylchloride,
have
been
detected
atherosclerotic
plaques

tissues,

Microplastics
and
nanoplastics
(MNPs)
have
implicated
in
cardiovascular
disease
preclinical
studies.
Our
objective
is
to
investigate
the
relationship
between
MNPs
