Conducting ecological sensitivity assessment is a crucial approach for pinpointing regional environmental issues, which can offer scientific basis to aid in the prevention of degradation and ensuring security. With protection high-quality development Yellow River Basin (YRB) at level national strategy China, there critical need comprehensive YRB's sensitivity. To this end, study aimed construct new evaluation index system from three perspectives: natural ecosystem, natural-social social ecosystem. The was quantified using entire-array-polygon indicator method, spatiotemporal changes YRB its sub-basins were analyzed 2000 2020. optimal parameters-based geographical detector model employed delve into mechanisms driving spatial variation We found that (1) 2020, exhibited bimodal trend. Spatially, it tended be low western eastern parts while relatively high southern central regions. (2) displayed notable clustering effects terms source area showed both "high-high" "low-low" groupings, upstream predominance clusters, midstream downstream demonstrated by concentrated clusters. However, effect gradually weakened over time. (3) primarily driven factors like shifts climate change soil erosion. There also marked differences heterogeneity across different sub-basins. Moreover, influence interactive on enhanced. research findings enhance our understanding issues faced establish foundation developing strategies protect manage ecosystem effectively.

The ecological footprint (EF) is an important tool for regional security assessments. Based on the renewable EF components that meet basic biomass needs of mankind, we evaluated status Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Great Area) in 2000 and 2015 from two aspects: health risk. results were as follows. (1) biocapacity have increased. difference structure between urban rural areas has nearly disappeared. Ecological consumption was concentrated cities with a high flow people, materials, tourism. (2) per hectare increasing. effective carrying rate varied greatly city to generally declining. level changed healthy unhealthy. (3) deficit pressure increased, risks are further expanding. increase number above high-risk means more hotspot targets risk management. (4) relatively unsafe weakly unsustainable strongly unsustainable. There need protect natural assets, reduce consumption, improve sustainability study area.

The Giant Panda National Park (GPNP) is one of the first national parks established in China, and consideration its ecological sensitivity an important part construction civilization. Taking GPNP as a case, evaluation model park was constructed on basis results regional terrain, climate, vegetation, animal trace, landscape resource, water resource human activity. CRiteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) method introduced to obtain comprehensive spatial distribution characteristics sensitivity, autocorrelation analysis explanatory factor were carried out order provide specific suggestions for development protection park. showed that gradually increases from edge center, area 12.36%, 28.24%, 31.94%, 21.56%, 4.76%, respectively. Moran's I 0.914, showing high region. sensitive cold spots are distributed north, hot middle south. In case governance, priority can be given these value cluster areas. Human activities main factors certain region influenced by positive behavior. interaction most pairs will enhance power single which means multiple methods achieve better results. research this paper scientific guiding management ecologically zones study area.

The ecological conservation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin (YRB) has been prime strategy China. Wherein, Inner Mongolia reach (IM-YRB) is a critical barrier in northern China, playing an unshakable position food security YRB. However, evaluation conditions relevant driving factors have not aroused considerable concerns. Here we propose degradation index system based on Pressure-State-Response (PSR) multi-scale comprehensive assessment framework evaluate environment intensity IM-YRB during 2000 to 2018. We find continual with increasing Moreover, quantify that 24.16% had highly significant (99% confidence level) environment. areas (95% accounted for 57.19% IM-YRB. population density, land use, coal mining fires are main influencing behind In addition, there occurred widespread use conversion (>50% study region area) amongst grassland, arable land, sands, construction unused these conversions can be found mainly Yinshan Mountains (from grassland abandoned Hetao Irrigation District land) Kubuqi Desert sand, grassland). This acts as theoretical ground sustainability regional
