Urban land green use efficiency (ULGUE) is one of the important indicators growth, making limited resources exert optimal benefits and minimize environmental pollution, enabling development cities. This survey measures ULGUE 284 Chinese cities at prefecture level above using Super-SBM model, built around panel data from 2004 to 2021. The geographic temporal evolution features are studied ArcGIS exploratory spatio-temporal analysis (ESTDA). elements influencing assessed a spatial econometric model. It found that: (1) fluctuates rises with time but has still not achieved validity in general; regionally, west > east central, an overall roughly decreasing trend perimeter center; provincially, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan basically achieve validity. (2) Each city's enthusiastic association. number dynamic local structures increases, strong dependence regional synergy be further strengthened. leap matrix indicates that most have undergone transformation cohesion. Due to high pollution and low eco-efficiency of urban land use, the sustainable development economy ecology is restricted. Environmental regulation (EnR) essential for government guide eco-efficient use resources, solve environmental problems, promote ecological civilization construction. Utilizing a dataset comprising 266 cities in China from 2011 2021, this paper studies intermediary effect green technology innovation (GTI) industrial structure optimization (ISO) EnR affecting (ULUEE). The results show that: (1) significantly promotes improvement ULUE, reaching 0.354; (2) also GTI ISO 0.653 0.189, respectively; (3) From mediating effect, are variables that affect level ULUEE. affects ULUEE through ISO. perspective path coefficient chain influence path① (EnR → ULUEE) 0.107, path② 0.111, path③ ULUEE)) 0.043; (4) There an inverted U-shaped relationship between effects on ULUEE; (5) In heterogeneity analysis, more evident, but impact less pronounced eastern large scale.

The megacity expansion that continues to occur in developing countries is an unavoidable trend at this stage, yet there exists a dearth of knowledge regarding the comprehensive impacts urban on water-related ecosystem services (WESs) within these areas. Taking Chengdu and Wuhan, two megacities upper middle Yangtze River Economic Belt China as study area, first compare magnitude, rate, spatial divergence, mode expansion; then evaluate its impact three typical types WESs, i.e., water yield (WY), purification (WP), habitat quality (HQ) using econometric models bivariate Moran's I. research findings show Chengdu's suburbs tend experience edge-based along rivers, while Wuhan's city center also spreads outward from river junctions Han rivers. Urban negatively all effect greater than Wuhan. WY Wuhan severely impacted by expansion, WP well. HQ suffers largest negative impact. reveals spillover with extensive externalities WESs centers both cities positive southwestern Chengdu. Based results, we suggest should focus protecting limiting cross-regional suburbs. Attention be paid water-ecological protection suburb City managers consider ecological zoning geared toward conservation address adverse expansion.

China's crude economic development has led to high pollution and inefficiency of urban land use. Environmental regulation (Er) is crucial for governments promote green growth efficient Using a dataset 271 cities in China from 2011 2020, this paper investigates the threshold effect innovation science technology industrial structure optimization on Er impacts use efficiency (Ulee). The results show that (1) positively affects Ulee. (2) There (Gin) upgrading (Ind) affecting Ulee, force decreases as value increases. (3) Within examination heterogeneity, impact Ulee more significant eastern, levels urbanization large cities, but action smaller. Based nonlinear Er, it maximize effectiveness by giving full play interactive synergistic "combination box" dynamically flexibly adjusting intensity according time, place, state development.

Improving the green efficiency of urban land use (GEULU) is essential for optimizing resource utilization while minimizing waste and pollution, making it a critical factor influencing sustainability development. However, spatiotemporal heterogeneity impact China’s New-Style Urbanization (NU) policy on GEULU, particularly at agglomeration scale, remains understudied. This study employed super SBM-DDF-GML model spatial data analysis to examine characteristics dynamics GEULU its interactions with varying implementations NU regional, agglomeration, city levels. The results show that followed “U-shaped” tendency from 2006 2020. Cities in western China exhibit higher levels but slower growth, compared lower absolute faster development rates amongst eastern cities. displays significant positive autocorrelation, “high-high clusters” shifting west east “low-low moving opposite direction. divergent: central regions negative areas. Economic urbanization, population clustering research education facilitate efficiency, sprawl significantly hinders improvement. Social urbanization digitalization exert adverse effects across many Ecological environmental protections promote southwestern cities obstruct northeastern effect has diminished over time, have grown stronger. China is at a critical stage in addressing environmental issues and achieving sustainable development. To effectively promote protection the construction of an ecological civilization, government policy support has become essential. Accurately assessing impact green fiscal (GFP) on urban land utilization efficiency (LGUE) significant for “win–win” situation between economic development implementing low-carbon path. This study evaluates LGUE improvement effect GFP using DID method with panel data 270 cities from 2008 to 2019. We find that significantly improves level.
