Building carbon emissions (BCEs) from the construction industry are crucial to realizing ‘Dual-Carbon’ Goals of China, but their spatio-temporal and stage differences not fully understood. Here, we explored spatial temporal building in Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration by combining life cycle assessment analysis, further compared contribution rates each influencing factor BCEs based on LMDI-STIRPAT model. The results revealed that 2005 2020, growth rate slowed after 2013, with a trend ‘slow east fast west’. With respect whole process, materials production transportation is most significant. Additionally, types energy used have changed dramatically over 16 years. Furthermore, GDP per capita intensity strongest positive negative drivers, respectively. These findings provide complete understanding for regional exploration contribute formulating low-carbon policies within agglomerations.

The pathway towards carbon neutrality in regions with a relatively light industrial structure and scarce renewable energy resources presents challenge when balancing efficiency improvements the expansion of energy. Abstract While China’s digital economy has grown rapidly, ecotourism development remains comparatively slow, necessitating strategies for their coordinated advancement. This study employs a coupling coordination model to analyze spatiotemporal dynamics using panel data from 30 provinces (2011–2022). Standard deviational ellipse analysis, kernel density estimation, and the Dagum Gini coefficient are applied assess regional disparities trends.Findings indicate steady improvement in economy–ecotourism coordination, with stronger integration east south weaker links west north. Regional remain primary challenge, reflected fluctuating coefficient. The analysis reveals polarization trend at national levels, rightward shift of distribution indicating growing differentiation. However, standard suggests declining spatial inequalities, increased clustering narrowing gap.To address these imbalances, highlights need targeted transformation ecotourism. Key recommendations include strengthening infrastructure, fostering interregional collaboration, leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, big data, IoT enhance services. Promoting industrial convergence policy support is crucial achieving balanced sustainable growth.

The Yangtze River Economic Belt, a key growth driver in China, faces energy-carbon challenges. Analyzing the impact of industrial restructuring on energy transition and emission reduction is crucial for its low-carbon transformation. This study first analyzed spatiotemporal patterns carbon emissions, intensity, structure decarbonization across YREB provinces from 2005 to 2021, then quantified impacts upgrading these dimensions by using spatial Durbin model with panel data, revealing heterogeneity mechanisms. Results show that: (1) U-shaped relationship exists between both intensity decarbonization, while it significantly lowers regional emissions; (2) analysis indicates effects intensify toward downstream regions, being pivotal mid-upstream mitigation. Accordingly, region-specific strategies are proposed: upstream areas should prioritize high-carbon substitution, ecological compensation, technological support; midstream regions adopt targeted policies green relocation efficiency enhancements accelerate upgrading; leverage innovation incentives service-driven restructuring. provides theoretical foundations tailored actionable insights achieving YREB’s development goals.
