Considering the ambitious climate goals defined by European Union, significant share of energy demand represented buildings, slow process their renovation due to challenges such as a need for majority consent from residents and limited available space in dense urban areas, this study aims foster retrofitting supply systems multi-storey apartment improving sustainability. This entails making transition sustainable more socially acceptable practical contexts proposition demonstration potential power heat system retrofit that minimises disruptions felt residents. It integrates rooftop renewable sources, storage with an electric heater, pumps, existing connections public utility networks. Furthermore, simulation results both single- multi-objective optimisation (performed genetic algorithm) equipment selection, well conventional smart control (implemented gradient-based optimisation) daily scheduling, are compared, defining main scientific contribution study. is found possible achieve net present value up almost twice annual expenses unrenovated building or self-sufficiency rate 41.6% while using control. These benefits can reach 2.6 times 49.8% if applied, demonstrating profitability improved achievable proposed approach Latvian conditions.
