Abstract This paper reviews the impacts of employing inserts, nanofluids, and their combinations on thermal performance flat plate solar collectors. The present work outlines new studies this specific kind collector. In particular, influential factors upon operation collectors with nanofluids are investigated. When colloidal particles are deposited in a heat transfer channel, they increase the flow resistance resulting substantial decrease efficiency. This study employed Reynolds stress model (RSM) and discrete (DPM) simulate deposition 3D corrugated rough-walled channel. The turbulent diffusion was modeled with random walk (DRW).
