The effect of crevice size on the corrosion N80 carbon steel was investigated by electrochemical measurements and surface analysis in a CO2-saturated NaCl-HAc solution. exhibits high susceptibility to this environment, which can be initiated immediately without an induction period for specimens with sizes 100 μm, 300 500 μm. Typically, solutions become more acidic during corrosion; however, study, solution became alkaline, resulting galvanic between inner outer surfaces leading severe corrosion. pH levels μm are similar, but both notably higher than that specimen size. As result, there is no significant difference phenomenon sizes, it

Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology is widely recognized as a key solution for mitigating global climate change. Consequently, it has received significant attention from countries worldwide. However, carbon dioxide corrosion poses challenge to CCUS represents bottleneck the large-scale development application of this technology. To mitigate issue, review starts with discussion problems in CCUS. Later, fundamentals mechanism are introduced. Then, influences various factors that affect highlighted, such water content, pH, flow rate, etc. Afterward, we summarize commonly used methods protection, particular focus on inhibitor, given their eco-friendly effective nature. Lastly, challenges prospects discussed motivate future studies developing novel, high-performance green inhibitor studying corresponding protection mechanisms, hoping make some contributions emission reduction.

API (American Petroleum Institute) steels are the most employed metal alloys in oil industry due to their outstanding mechanical properties; however, protection is considered as an imperative matter because of corrosion damage vulnerability when exposed different surroundings that provoke a rate increase concomitant redox reactions. This problematic situation becomes more relevant generation and/or use one or various aqueous corrosive environments occur, addition process conditions, result which extremely difficult be controlled. For these reasons, internal and external metallic systems fundamental concern, where often controlled through inhibitors (CIs). The present review analyzes researchers' contributions last years study evaluation CIs for steel media featuring HCl, H2SO4, H3NSO3H, CO2, H2S, NaCl, production water under temperature flow conditions. Different derived from plant extracts, drugs, nanoparticles, ionic liquids, mainly destined acid media, were found. Throughout review, exhaustive analysis inhibition results carried out based on gravimetric electrochemical techniques consider weight loss material electrical behavior (current density, resistance, capacitance, frequency, impedance, etc.). Likewise, computational analyses those surface taken into account reinforce CIs.

Gas pipelines are fundamental structures for transporting energy resources. Their integrity is constantly threatened by failures caused potential punctures or ruptures, leading to gas releases, which can have significant consequences the installation, people, and environment. Various methodologies been proposed improve Pipeline Structural Integrity Management (PSIM) processes. In this work, a model estimating probability of release failure using Quantitative Fault Tree Analysis (QFTA) approach. The Minimum Cut Set (MCS) technique applied along with assessment Importance Measures (IM) provide an accurate estimation rate (λ) identification most critical basic events. This information be used support actions in Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) eliminate, control, mitigate risks. was validated comparing results obtained through Monte Carlo Simulation data from official databases pipeline incidents/accidents similar models published literature. proved capable accurately (λ), closely matching database values more convergent than those achieved reference study also provides guidelines correct effective application PSIM routines.

Abstract Oil and gas pipelines play an important role in the energy transportation industry, but metal corrosion can affect safe operation of pipeline equipment. This study uses CiteSpace software to synthesize analyze models keywords from research institutions, countries, methods related prediction. The investigation into mechanisms corrosion, with a specific emphasis on CO 2 H S has revealed that several factors influence process, including temperature, partial pressure, medium composition product film. In addition, provides comprehensive review prediction models. These include traditional empirical, semi-empirical, mechanism-based models, as well advanced machine learning techniques such random forest, artificial neural network model, support vector machine, dose-response function. Although there are many ways improve model performance, no universally accepted have been established. Therefore, further in-depth is needed accuracy these provide guidance for improving operational safety pipelines.
