Currently, the monitoring of rocky desertification(RD) is concentrated in karst area, whereas study red-bed areas rare. In this paper, we present a multi-scale classification framework for RD based on spectral-spatial features. At pixel scale, explored several spectral indices statistics and separability analysis land cover samples. The homogeneous covers were classified by decision rules from selected (such as NDIOI, NRRI NDGI); patch classes further distinguished spatial multiple neighborhood features including proximity, linear density, buffer distance. method was applied an OLI image over area northwestern Jiangxi, south central China, validated using ground-based observations. experimental results verification comparison are satisfactory. This work demonstrates methodological supplement to red bed RD.

Abstract Groundwater is one of the fundamental sources fresh water. Currently, unequal distribution groundwater poses a significant environmental crisis, leading to scarcity in certain regions and affecting livelihood living organisms worldwide. The present study introduces Sub-Himalayan foothills Dooars, highly populated agriculturally based area. To delineate potentiality eight different effective parameters have been employed such as slope, geomorphology, soil, LULC, lineament, rainfall, hydrogeology, drainage density. For process development these thematic layers, geographic information systems satellite images (Landsat 8) used give normalized weight rank value each layer their sub-criteria. MCDA-AHP-based model for overlay analysis (GWPZ). After ArcGIS 10.2.2 final map further grouped into four zones, i.e., very high, moderate, low potential zones. A high zone encompasses 22.45 sq. km. southern portion selected region. 1613.32 km southeastern part, moderate covered by 1063.84 sq.km, 71.03 sq.km (2.56% area region) zone. available well data from CGWB utilized assess district, ensuring originality authentic validation. It found that there correlation between observed existing data. With growing population Dooars region, has corresponding rise demand Hence, this research would assist authorities policymakers effectively managing resources district.

Nowadays, modelling groundwater potential zones (GWPZs) based on scientific principles and modern techniques is a major challenge for scientists around the world. This even greater in arid semi-arid areas. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), geographic information systems (GISs), multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) are that have been applied various fields, especially exploration. study attempts to apply workflow GWPZs using UAV technology, GIS, MCDM An survey provided high-resolution DEM of 4 cm. Six influencing factors, including elevation model, drainage density, lineament slope, flood zone, topographic wetness index, were considered delineate GWPZs. Four classes identified, namely high (4.64%), moderate (23.74%), low (18.2%), very (53.42%). Three validation methods, borehole yield data, receiver operating characteristic area under curve (ROC-AUC), principal component analysis (PCA), used gave accuracies 82.14%, 65.4%, 72.49%, respectively. These validations indicate satisfactory accuracy justify effectiveness approach. The mapping areas important availability planning water resources management sustainable development.

Understanding the spatial and seasonal dynamics of surface water bodies is imperative for addressing security challenges in water-scarce regions. This study aimed to evaluate efficacy multi-date Sentinel-2-derived spectral indices, specifically normalized difference index (NDWI), modified (MNDWI), Sentinel 2 Water Index (SWI), conjunction with landscape metrics mapping fluctuations bodies. Google Earth Engine (GEE) was employed this assessment. The research achieved impressive overall accuracies, ranging from 96 100% both dry wet seasons, highlighting robustness methodology. revealed significant differences terms size coverage between seasons. Surprisingly, season exhibited a higher prevalence when compared season, indicating unexpected patterns availability region substantial heterogeneity Meanwhile, characterized by extensive coverage. Abstract Human activity has dramatically altered the environment around world. Most of these modifications occurred in natural habitats due to human activities. On other hand, variations climatic conditions required sustain appropriately performing ecosystems are becoming increasingly challenging for managers and policymakers. Often, pollution associated with activities is diffuse, occurs over a wide geographic area, accumulates time. Assessing, monitoring, eventually connecting relevant environmental variables landscape development crucial overcoming problems. Remote monitoring evaluation agroecosystem changes, using sensors, global positioning systems, satellite-based platforms, provides constant assessment field dynamics on large scale. This study reviewed critical advances remote sensing sustainable agroecosystem.
