The ongoing global decline of bees threatens biodiversity and food safety as both wild plants crops rely on bee pollination to produce viable progeny or high-quality products in high yields. Pesticide exposure is a major driving force for the decline, yet pesticide use remains unreconciled with conservation since studies demonstrate that continue be heavily exposed threatened by pesticides natural habitats. Pharmaceutical methods, including administration phytochemicals, probiotics (beneficial bacteria), recombinant proteins (enzymes) detoxification functions, show promise potential solutions mitigate poisonings. We discuss how these new methods can appropriately developed applied agriculture from biology ecotoxicology perspectives. As countless probiotics, exist, this Perspective will provide suggestive guidance accelerate development techniques directing research resources toward promising candidates. Furthermore, we practical limitations mentioned above realistic field applications propose recommendations overcome limitations. This builds framework allow researchers more efficiently order harmful impacts bees.

The interest in natural products, namely, bee products is actual nowadays. Bee pollen a rich source of nutrients and biologically active compounds with numerous biological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, etc. search for new plant raw has practical meaning. goal this study was to evaluate the biochemical composition inflorescences Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth. Grown Slovakia. material collected from experimental plots Slovak Agricultural University Nitra. There were conducted following analyses: dry matter, protein, ash, lipid, β-carotene, fatty acid, amino saccharide content. Ph. had 73.3% 27.44% 2.77% 5.35% lipids, 3.0 mg.kg-1 32.2 g.100 g-1 saturated acids, 5.7 monounsaturated 55.7 polyunsaturated acids. nutritional 91.05% 18.37% 15.49% 4.5% 50.4 34.0 8.8 45.5 prevailing acids investigated glutamic, aspartic proline, leucine. content fructose higher 44 times than fructose. maltose lactose both less 0.5 g.kg-1. Various pesticide residues can be found in different bee colony components. The queen larvae of honey (Apis mellifera L.) receive non-contaminated food from nurse bees. However, there is little knowledge about how affect developing Additionally, known the migration lipophilic pesticides between matrices. While wax, royal jelly (RJ), and are chemically distinct, they all contain lipids we expected fungicide tebuconazole to absorbed by contacting materials. Our aim was analyze translocation cell wax RJ, larvae, newly emerged queens evaluate its potential risk queens. We demonstrated for with a strong dilution effect original contamination source. No were detected queens, indicating that probably did not directly endanger bee, but some might still homeostasis

The use of neonicotinoid insecticides in agriculture has posed threats to ecological systems, and there is a need assess the risks neonicotinoids from emission nontarget organisms. We introduced modeling approach using honeybee earthworm as model organisms, simulation was flexible under different environmental conditions. Using cotton plant an example, results demonstrated that current recommended application rates, common no threat earthworms, with simulated risk quotients (RQs) much lower than 1. However, for some (e.g., acetamiprid) indicated these on plants could threaten honeybees, RQs higher variability analysis showed high-latitude regions, unacceptable honeybees by insecticide can be further elevated due cold, wet weather relatively high levels pollen nectar. evaluation large overlaps intervals between proposed existing (BeeREX) models. Because models have mechanisms, we recommend two used together complement each other future studies. Environ Toxicol Chem 2023;42:928-938. © 2023 SETAC.
