Extreme summers, high poverty rate and continuous electricity load shedding results in commercial manufacturing sale of ice many countries. The vendors prepared using untreated piped water, tanker water ground water. These waters may contain hazardous pollutants made from them can be a potential risk for human health. So, it is important to regularly monitor the quality all populous cities. A contemporary examination was carried out evaluate physico-chemical properties heavy metals sold districts Karachi. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a unique area with water sources for approximately 40 % of the population in world. Water resources and quality are closely associated ecological security human health. Fifty-one trace elements surface samples (n = 40) were measured, quality, health risks assessed. Trace showed significant variations different bodies study area. Concentrations minor relatively high saline salt lakes while those REEs varied from 0.05 to 33.62 μg/L an average value 3.80 μg/L. Nemerow pollution index (NP) values ranged 0.08 3.48, 0.36 rivers, fresh reservoir samples; heavy metal (HPI) 3.70 21.18, indicating that most within critical limit; evaluation (HEI) degree contamination (DC) indicated free status. (WQI) 96 belonged excellent status samples. More attention should be given Cr, Zn Hg according potential risk assessment. Hazard quotients residential children 30 sites exceed 1.0 maximal 10.97, suggesting non-carcinogenic U, Zr Cr ingestion pathway, U dermal pathway primary contributors total risk. Carcinogenic recreational receptors range 3.20 × 10-5-7.38 10-3 8.62 10-6-3.63 10-3, respectively. carcinogenic higher than target 1 10-4, As below results this provided information on protection management northeastern Plateau.

The interactions among dissolved organic matter (DOM), microplastics (MPs) and microbes influence the fate of aqueous carbon greenhouse gas emissions. However, related processes mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we found that MPs determined by influencing biodiversity chemodiversity. release chemical additives such as diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) bisphenol A (BPA) into phase. microbial community, especially autotrophic bacteria Cyanobacteria, showed a negative correlation with released from MPs. inhibition autotrophs promoted CO2 Meanwhile, stimulated metabolic pathways tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle to accelerate DOM biodegradation process, then transformed presented low bioavailability, high stability, aromaticity. Our findings highlight an urgent need for chemodiversity surveys assess ecological risks MP pollution impact on cycle.

Plastic is a pervasive material that has become an indispensable part of our daily lives and used in various commercial products. However, plastic waste significantly impacted the environment, accumulating water land ecosystems harming all forms life. When degrades, it breaks down into smaller particles called microplastics (MPs), which can further breakdown nanoplastics (NPs). Due to their small size potential toxicity humans, NPs are particular concern. During COVID-19 pandemic, production had reached unprecedented levels, including essential medical kits, food bags, personal protective equipment (PPE), generate MPs when burned. have been detected locations, such as air, food, soil, but understanding adverse health effects limited. This review aims provide comprehensive overview sources, interactions, ecotoxicity, routes exposure, mechanisms, detection methods, future directions for safety evaluation NPs. would improve impact on environment identify ways address this global crisis.
