Soil ecosystems are under serious threat from microplastics (MPs), and this is causing worldwide concern. The relationship between soil MPs has become a popular research topic, the vertical migration of increasing interest. This Review summarizes current status into factors affecting MPs. Published shows that characteristics physicochemical properties affect infiltration process. organisms play key role in by acting as vectors or result adsorption. Dissolved organic matter metal oxides transfer adsorption-desorption. In addition, rainfall dry-wet cycles alter mobility MPs, leading to changes processes. Agricultural activities such tillage irrigation may distribute throughout topsoil. Vertical process influenced combination factors, these MP deposition needs be explored further.

Land-based microplastics (MPs) are considered the primary source of MPs in aquatic environment, with runoff being a significant pathway for their migration from soil to surface water. Nevertheless, transportation characteristics via agricultural remain unclear. This study investigated occurrence and emission under various short-term fertilization natural rainfall using laser direct infrared (LDIR) technology. fertilizers co-migrated runoff.
