Particulate matter (PM) can cause human diseases, particularly respiratory diseases. Since eyes are directly exposed to the air, they might be adversely affected by PM. Therefore, we determined toxicity caused eye development PM using zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos. The PM-induced embryo was dependent on dose and time significant morphological defects, reducing total body length area. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction confirmed in treatment group, antioxidant genes (cat sod2), photoreceptor cell development, pigmentation (atoh8, vsx1, rho), eye-embryogenesis (pax6a pax6b), eye-lens-development (cryaa) were downregulated, while eye-development (crybb1) upregulated. In conclusion, had a direct adverse effect eyes, embryos used as model evaluate vivo.

The intricate relationship between climate change and air pollution is having a significant impact on public health.Increases in global temperatures are leading to extreme weather events, changes plant growth patterns, higher levels of aeroallergens pollution; all which can exacerbate pre-existing respiratory conditions increase the risk developing other diseases. In this article, four world leaders field health outline evidence linking poor outcomes. They highlight that people living with lung conditions, such as asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), well pregnant people, children, older those low-and middle-income countries (LMIC), most at risk. They emphasise need for greater awareness among healthcare professionals alike, talk about role teams helping recognise mitigate risks, share practical ways help minimise impacts pollution.
