This study evaluated non-fibrous Mg-clays as potential adsorbents of emerging contaminants (ECs) from water. The materials were characterized, and their textural structural properties related to ability remove two model EC molecules: ciprofloxacin (CPX) lidocaine (LID). results showed that Ad-6 Ad-7 are mixed-layer kerolite/stevensite, while Ad-5 Ad-8 mainly composed smectite minerals like stevensite saponite, respectively. exhibited the highest CPX-adsorption capacity (0.91 mmol·g−1 clay), likely due its saponite content. Mixed-layer also performed well, with achieving an adsorption 0.8 0.55 clay, Adsorption studies suggested CPX is adsorbed through ion exchange in high content (Ad-8 Ad-5), interstratified enhanced retention kerolite presence, which improves porous structures. Similar findings observed for LID, indicating a cationic-exchange mechanism LID all suggesting molecular size could regulate removal these materials. work studied be effectively used pharmaceutical pollutants, expanding commercial possibilities.

Abstract Fish microbiome plays an important role in maintaining host homeostasis, with many bacterial functions directly linked to fitness. research is advancing fast, especially the context of aquaculture where several stressors are known disrupt stability host‐associated bacteria, prompting dysbiosis. Therefore, understanding signatures dysbiosis different fish mucosae and their association such fundamental set up efficient health‐monitoring strategies, as well sound objective working hypothesis for future research. Herein, we reviewed studies that employed culture‐independent approaches assess effects disease, chemotherapeutics water quality changes on diversity metrics gut, skin gill microbiomes. We conclude increases abundance potential pathogens community structure reliable indicators fish. The gut emerged being highly susceptible salinity chemotherapeutics, whereas external microbiota seems be more caused by disease temperature changes. Our analysis showed treatments tetracyclines florfenicol likely elicit severe compared quinolones disinfectants cause lesser disturbance microbiome. Bacterial diseases also frequently (enteritis particular), parasitic far less deleterious. Regarding impacts quality, only reasonably studied. Recent developments metagenomics, include a fast turn‐around time results, can used detect homeostasis during critical periods production, assisting management.

Lead (Pb) is a non-essential toxic metal that accumulates in aquatic environments, negatively impacting fish health. This study evaluated the acute toxicity of Pb starry flounders (Platichthys stellatus). Fish (41 ± 8.1 g, 14 0.9 cm) were exposed to concentrations 0, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, and 640 mg Pb2+/L for 96 h. The lethal concentration (96 h LC50) was determined be 227 Pb2+/L. Hematological analysis showed significant decreases RBC counts, hemoglobin, hematocrit, while MCH MCHC increased at ≥160 Plasma calcium levels significantly decreased following exposure, AST activity reduced. These findings suggest waterborne exposure adversely affects survival, hematological parameters, plasma components P. stellatus, providing insight into organisms.

This article reviews the scientific literature discussing microbial interactions between water microbiota, live food fish larvae immune system and gut biofilm communities in rearing systems for marine larvae. Fish microbiota is first line of defense against opportunistic pathogens, are vulnerable to high mortalities during weeks after hatching. The bacterial colonization a dynamic process influenced by environmental host-related factors. bacteria transferred from eggs can influence composition early stages fish. ingest free-living microorganisms present water, as drink osmoregulation. In aquaculture systems, conventional feeding–rearing protocol consists zooplankton (rotifers, Artemia, copepods). These organisms filter-feeders. Once new environment, they quickly adopt microflora surrounding water. So, similar at time ingestion biofilms may harbor pathogenic serve reservoir those microbes, which colonize column. methods applied study were reviewed.

Abstract The bio‐reductive fabrication of nanomaterials is a developing arena study that seeks to fabricate nanoparticles (NPs) using microorganisms, plants, and animal blood. However, the chemical approach AgNPs fulfills need abundant NPs. In contrast, chemically fabricated are more toxic than biological AgNPs. Therefore, current aimed assess evaluate silver (AgNPs) for their possible toxicity in Common carp fish ( Cyprinus carpio ). synthesized were purchased from market applied toxicity. used against bioaccumulation different organs histological alterations intestine muscles. results revealed mostly accumulated intestines followed by gills, liver, muscles p < .05). caused gills at highest concentration (0.08 mg/L). no observed middle lowest AgNPs, particularly, intestine. conclusion, extensive research required establish hazards related use disclose negative effects on aquatic environment. Reasearch Highlights method fabricates large amount Additionally, considered have excellent diverse applications deposited various cause changes.
