Today, resource depletion is a significant threat to society, exacerbated by the increasing demand for water, energy, and food resources driven rapid population growth. Coupled with environmental conservation efforts, designing optimised integrated Energy-Water-Food-Carbon nexus networks increasingly essential. The objective of this study design systematic approach integration within eco-industrial parks, uniquely focusing on combination Energy-Water-Food concept, constituting technology sub-systems, carbon capture/utilisation processes. resulting network superstructure representative an industrial park case in Qatar, consists multiple sources sinks, including, chemical processes (gas-to-liquid, methanol, ammonia, liquified natural gas), desalination, wastewater treatment, processes, biomass gasification, waste heat recovery capture units. Multiple scenarios are simulated solved using "what's Best" Mixed-Integer Global Solver synergic potential trade-offs management. outcomes determine that utilisation most significant, which improve all emissions 11.4% 40%, respectively, while there was no change scenario treatment reuse. total cost optimum solution after almost 3% more expensive compared base scenario. Furthermore, can potentially reduce corresponding global warming amount 1.55 × 104 Mt CO2-eq/yr efficient

Centralized wastewater treatment has been the favorite strategy until a few decades ago, in order to exploit each possible scale economy. Nowadays, water stress and resource scarcity, due population growth climate change, call for reuse recovery, these goals do not often find centralization best solution. Today, of reclaimed can take place at different levels represents an option primary importance; therefore, some cases, centralized systems may be economically environmentally unsustainable this additional purpose, search optimal infrastructure degree must into account goals. This review analyzes studies that investigated level collection treatment, focusing on methodologies applied decision highlighting strengths weaknesses approaches how they have evolved over time. The final goal is guide planners decision-makers choosing handling most suitable method assess infrastructures, based objectives set out. reviewed cover period twenty years. differences found along time span show ongoing paradigm shift towards hybrid systems, which combine decentralized treatments promote storage treated various forms local recovery. protection human health environment (which primarily promotes recovery) become main challenge will presumably improve further their economic, social environmental sustainability achieve urban development context water-energy-food security nexus.

Food security is related to human wellbeing and sustainable development an important guarantee for world peace. In the context of global climate change, increased food demand, resource depletion, conflicts, frequent public health emergencies, widely seen as one top challenges. research has obvious interdisciplinary characteristics, involving a wide range fields. We analyzed literature on in Web Science core collection from 1991 2021, using bibliometric methods with aid Biblioshiny software package. By collecting, screening, analyzing, visually expressing data, following conclusions were drawn: (1) past 30 years, annual number publications increased. The period can be divided into three stages: 1991–2003 budding period, 2004–2012 2013–2020 high-yield active period. journals discussing issues are Security, Sustainability, Policy, these focus publication comprehensive views perspectives. (2) Studies cover 138 countries or regions. terms published articles United States, Kingdom, China. Among 20 articles, European highlighted. (3) Climate security, agriculture, policy, management other high-frequency keywords field security; change occurred 321 times. word sub-Saharan Africa also more frequently, indicating that attracted attention. (4) theme mapping clearly showed status future trends various topics field. Currently, production, most popular themes. Research sovereignty, ecological child obesity, aspects emerging (5) predict future, may expansion improvement evaluation system, balance between goals, agricultural production efficiency, government policies strategies. Our results provide reference grasping current situation, key direction, trend security.
