The study investigates the relationship between technological innovation, clean energy, trade openness, and natural resource rents on environmental sustainability within BRICS + T nations. Motivated by urgent need to address escalating CO2 emissions—reaching 36.4 billion metric tons in 2022—the research aims understand how these factors influence emissions, ecological footprint, load capacity factor, its inverse, contributing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). uses panel data from countries spanning period 1990 2022. Employing advanced econometric techniques such as Dynamic Seemingly Unrelated Regression (DSUR), Cross-Sectionally Augmented Panel Unit Root (CUP-FM, CUP-BC), nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models, tests Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis evaluates asymmetric effects of variables. Key findings indicate that innovation consistently reduces emissions footprints, reinforcing role promoting through cleaner technologies more efficient industrial processes. Clean energy adoption has also been shown be a significant driver reducing degradation, with consistent negative while improving factor. However, openness exhibits dual effect. While it enhances use efficiency, simultaneously increases likely due heightened activity. Natural display mixed results: some cases, they exacerbate others, contribute funding eco-friendly initiatives. recommends nations prioritize investments green technologies, strengthen regulations, enhance international collaboration accelerate transition renewable energy. Policymakers should balance benefits stricter standards mitigate adverse sustainability. These integrated strategies are essential for achieving targets outlined SDGs.

This study examines the impact of investment freedom, technological innovation, renewable energy, and economic growth on load capacity factor (LCF) within context Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 13 for a group high freedom countries (Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Chile, Singapore, New Zealand, States America, Belgium, Finland, Uruguay, Latvia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland). Furthermore, this research assesses impacts achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The data set covers years between 1995 2019. Moreover, validity curve (LCC) hypothesis is analyzed in all countries. Long-run coefficients are estimated using Regularized Common Correlated Effects (rCCE) estimator, robustness analysis performed (CCE) estimators. overall assessment panel reveals that LCC invalid selected nations, with exception Belgium. Other findings indicate reduces LCF Zealand. However, increases LCF, improving environmental quality Latvia. Technological innovation decreases Singapore it Germany. Renewable energy UK Spain. Finally, policy implications discussed.

The escalating energy consumption seen in the BRICS countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, presents a substantial environmental problem, resulting depletion of resources, amplified carbon emissions, endangering well-being ecological systems. study examines potential green innovation to alleviate these adverse effects. By combining technology with strong institutions responsible consumption, we argue that nations can significantly reduce their footprint. This research, encompassing data from 1995 2022, employs Driscoll–Kraay panel quantile regression analyze complex interplay institutional quality, innovation, footprints across countries. Our findings reveal is crucial mitigating footprint, particularly when combined resilient quality controlled use. Conversely, factors like high natural resource rent, urbanization contribute an increased Notably, emphasizes critical role both renewable effectively reducing burden within nations. These suggest prioritizing investments development, even amidst demands, represents viable strategy for achieve sustainable growth responsibility.

This study provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges to achieving carbon neutrality at county level in China and offers targeted recommendations, laying groundwork for future specialized research this area. A total 283 relevant studies (2004–2023) were analyzed assess county-level emissions through three phases: bibliometric analysis, frontier prospects. Bibliometric findings reveal that publication trends largely influenced by domestic foreign policies. Keyword cluster discerns ten primary themes, ranging from conceptual frameworks methodologies. The analysis literature highlights leading areas, which include pathway, driving factors, spatiotemporal variation emissions, co-effects pollutants reduction, China's rural areas. Drawing results analyses, elucidates recommendations perspectives: effective regional policy guidance, emphasis on ecological conservation, deployment advanced reduction sequestration technologies. enriches body knowledge holds significant implications push towards its objectives.

The transition to renewable energy is a critical priority for the European Union. However, roles of foreign direct investment and technological innovation in shaping consumption remain unclear. This study examines their joint influence across 20 Union countries from 2013 2023, employing Method Moments Quantile Regression capture varying effects under different market conditions. findings reveal that consistently enhances consumption, strengthening its impact 0.298 10th 0.488 90th quantile, particularly economies with robust infrastructure. FDI negatively affects all quantiles, coefficients ranging −0.00000228 −0.00000324, suggesting investments may not always align clean goals. Additionally, inflation positively influences implying rising prices drive shift toward renewables, while economic growth initially increases fossil fuel reliance before transitioning cleaner sources. study’s results emphasise need strong policy interventions ensure aligns goals continues adoption.
