This article reports the development of a self-healing and self-adhesive homopolymer vinyl neodecanoate (VNDc) using bulk polymerization process. The obtained PVNDc is found to have subzero glass transition temperature (Tg) −3 °C an optical transparency comparable that inorganic glass. Moreover, series copolymers VNDc with methyl methacrylate (MMA) are prepared solution process understand effect second comonomer on mechanism, adhesion, various other properties. Since PMMA rigid transparent polymer, modified this improve toughness soft, stretchable backbone. With introduction MMA VNDc, stretchability, self-healing, adhesion properties were disappear due substitution longer pendant group by smaller one, disrupting interlocking tertiary carbons present at long-chain end monomer residue in backbone reduction van der Waal interaction when introduced place respectively. sticky adhesive material that, further blending different wt % conductive fillers MWCNT, shows electrical conductivity 9.6 × 10–4 S/cm (semiconducting) fabricate semiconductive tape. A superstretchable, heals itself without external stimuli like pressure, temperature, cross-linking agents. matrix property might find its potential application flexible devices, such as adhesives electronic circuits semiconducting tapes.
