In this historical context, the Mediterranean Sea faces an increasing threat from emerging pollutants such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, heavy metals, pesticides and microplastics, which pose a serious risk to environment human health. regard, aquatic invertebrates fish are particularly vulnerable toxic effects of these pollutants, several species have been identified bio-indicators for their detection. Among these, bivalve molluscs elasmobranchs now widely used accurately assess contaminants. The study focuses on catshark Scyliorhinus canicular mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. first one is useful indicator localised contamination levels due its exposure that accumulate seabed. Moreover, it has high trophic position plays important role in ecosystem. mollusc galloprovincialis, other hand, being filter-feeding organism, can acquire bioaccumulate foreign particles present environment. Additionally, because also commercial interest, direct impact conclusion, presence issue requires immediate attention. Bivalve two examples must be precisely determine marine ecosystem

Aquatic environmental pollution is a rather worrying and increasingly topical problem that requires the development promotion of innovative ecofriendly technologies. Pollutants in water include many common substances can reach aquatic ecosystems through several pathways including wastewater, atmosphere, ship discharges, other sources. Most these toxic compounds are internalized by organisms, leading to bioaccumulation tissues reaching any level food chain biomagnification process. These mechanisms develop into adverse effects on physiology organisms biochemical processes natural ecosystems, thus affecting animals, environments, indirectly, human health. Innovative technologies tackle marine bioremediation: suitable, biological, ecological approach enhances ability micro-organisms transform waste forms be used organisms. In this context, appear essential for detoxification systems due their metabolic activity. This review provides careful analysis characteristics main pollutants affect with focus environments. It also offers clear guidance biological strategies employed prevent, limit, remediate anthropogenic influences

Enrofloxacin (ENR) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic widely used due to its efficacy against pathogens. Microplastics (MPs) may bind ENR and reduce efficiency, whereas there would be an increase in toxicity, bioavailability, bio-accumulation rates. Therefore, the hypothesis that interaction between MPs can alter their toxicity bioavailability. The subjective of this study examine various concentrations (0, 1.35, 2.7 ml Kg-1 diet) 1000, 2000 mg alone combination for 21 days. rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) economic aquaculture species as experimental model ecotoxicology studies. Blood biochemical analytes indicated led increasing enzymatic activity each biomarker, except gamma-glutamyl-transferase (GGT). Alterations related triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose, urea, creatinine, total protein, albumin blood contents were observed. An elevation levels superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) was found liver. In contrast, catalase (CAT) glutathione peroxidase (GPx) decreased. Furthermore, decline observed cellular antioxidant (ANT) levels. These findings suggested could affect fish health both independently together. Consequently, determined when present high concentrations, amplified, providing further evidence synergistic impact on toxicity.

This study investigated the toxicity of polyethylene microplastics (MPs; <0.02 mm) and CuSO4, alone in combination, on freshwater crayfish Pontastacus leptodactylus. In this study, were exposed to PE-MPs (0.0, 0.5, 1 mg L-1) CuSO4·5H2O for a period 28 days. Next, multi-biomarkers, including biochemical, immunological, oxidative stress indicators analyzed. Results showed that co-exposure CuSO4 resulted increased aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), decreased alkaline phosphatase (ALP), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), gamma-glutamyl-transferase (GGT). Triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose, albumin content also increased. Although no significant change was observed lysozyme phenoloxidase activities co-exposed 0.5 L-1 MPs their significantly other experimental groups. Oxidative parameters hepatopancreas indicated superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, but catalase (CAT), glucose 6-phosphate (G6PDH), cellular total antioxidant (TAC). sub-chronic confirmed. The confirmed found higher concentrations led more severe effects. Co-exposure primarily compromised endpoints, showing when both pollutants present concentrations. POX, LYZ, ALP, GGT, LDH, CAT suppressed by MPs. However, synergistic increase measured biomarkers
