Novel tetrafluoro-λ6-sulfanyl-containing oligomers prepared by visible light-promoted addition of 1,4-(bis-chlorotetrafluoro-λ6-sulfanyl) benzene or 1,3-(bis-chlorotetrafluoro-λ6-sulfanyl) to either 1,4-diethynyl the 1,3-diethynyl isomers form hard, stress resistant thin films on spin casting. The isomeric were utilized establish a structure-function relationship for mechanical properties from oligomers. Young’s moduli 145-nm-thick cured could reach 60 GPa. measured hardnesses, between 1.57 and 2.77 GPa, more than double those polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) films. Curing polymer UV irradiation resulted in coatings that exhibited remarkable hardness modulus with good surface adhesion silicon.

Abstract Functional inks for light‐based 3D printing are actively being searched able to exploit all the potentialities of additive manufacturing. Herein, a fast visible‐light photopolymerization process is showed conductive PEDOT:PSS hydrogels. For this purpose, new Type II photoinitiator system (PIS) based on riboflavin (Rf), triethanolamine (TEA), and poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) investigated visible light acrylic monomers. has dual role by accelerating photoinitiation providing conductivity obtained Using PIS, full monomer conversion achieved in less than 2 min using light. First, PIS mechanism studied, proposing that electron transfer between triplet excited state dye ( 3 Rf*) amine (TEA) catalyzed PEDOT:PSS. Second, series poly(2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate)/PEDOT:PSS hydrogels with different compositions photopolymerization. The presence negatively influences swelling properties hydrogels, but significantly increases its mechanical modulus electrical properties. also tested commercially available Digital Light Processing (DLP) printer (405 nm wavelength), obtaining high resolution 500 µm hole size scaffolds.

The lack of chemical diversity in light-driven reactions for 3D printing poses challenges the production structures with long-term ambient stability, recyclability, and breadth properties (mechanical, optical, etc.). Herein we expand scope photochemistries compatible by introducing onium photocages rapid formation poly(thiourethanes) (PTUs). Efficient nonsensitized visible-light photolysis releases organophosphine -amine derivatives that catalyze thiol–isocyanate polyaddition excellent temporal control. Two resin formulations comprising commercial isocyanates thiols were developed digital light processing (DLP) to showcase fast high-resolution PTU objects disparate mechanical properties. Onium represent valuable tools advance manufacturing next-generation high-performance sustainable materials.

Dyes based on quinoline and quinoxaline skeletons were designed for application as visible light photoinitiators. The obtained compounds absorb electromagnetic radiation the border between ultraviolet light, which allows use of dental lamps sources during initiation photopolymerization reaction. Their another desirable feature is ability to create a long-lived excited state, enables chain reaction proceed through mechanism intermolecular electron transfer. In two-component photoinitiating systems, in presence an donor or hydrogen atom donor, synthesized show excellent abilities photoinitiate polymerization acrylates. control tests, efficiency using modified derivatives comparable that typical, commercial photoinitiator dentistry, camphorquinone. Moreover, tested requires small amount (only 0.04% by weight) initiate research also showed significant acceleration process shortening time. practice, this means new initiating systems can be used much lower concentrations without slowing down speed obtaining polymer materials. It worth emphasizing these two features system allow cost reduction reducing financial outlays both materials (photoinitiators) electricity.
