BACKGROUND The assessment of nutritional status in non-dialysis elderly patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and comorbid depression is clinically important. Determining key determinants this population significantly improves management strategies assists these overcome the disease. AIM To investigate factors influencing CKD depression. METHODS This study retrospectively collected clinical data 182 admitted at Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University, from January 2022 to June 2023. participants were categorized based on presence malnutrition into nutritionally normal group (n = 97) 85). two groups subjected unifactorial multifactorial regression analyze among participants. Data included sex, age, body mass index (BMI), percentage fat, basal metabolic rate (BMR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), albumin (Alb), hemoglobin (Hb), pre-albumin (PA), patient-generated subjective global assessment, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) score identify depressive symptoms. After admitting hospital, 5 mL peripheral serum was withdrawn, centrifuge operated 3500 rpm/minute a centrifugal radius 10 cm for minutes, collected, Alb, Hb, PA, BUN, Cr levels detected using fully automatic biochemical analyzer. results assessed Statistical Package Social Sciences version 21.0 conducting technical analyses. Metric are presented as mean ± standard error replaced t -test. Count expressed case counts percentages χ 2 test. Effective modeled logistic return modeling. RESULTS BMI, BMR, lower than group. Furthermore, BUN levels, PHQ-9 scores, anxiety symptoms greater nutrition group, statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Multiple factorial interpretations revealed PA CONCLUSION Serum all depression; hence, interventions can be targeted above characteristics.

Background The effects of multivitamin exposure on depression among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have not been thoroughly explored. This study aimed to explore the individual vitamin intakes and joint effect intake multiple vitamins (including A, B 1 , 2 6 12 C, D, E, K) risk in participants CKD. Methods A total 3,123 CKD (weighted n = 25,186,480) from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey database 2007 2014 were included. Weighted multivariate logistic regression models utilized analyze associations dietary risk. Additionally, Bayesian kernel machine (BKMR) weighted quantile sum (WQS) performed evaluate nine Results overall prevalence was approximately 11.3% participants. In fully adjusted model, high (OR: 0.54, 95% CI: 0.40–0.74), 0.67, 0.48–0.95), 0.70, 0.49–0.99), D 0.67. 0.48–0.94), K 0.61, 0.44–0.85) associated a reduced likelihood depression. BKMR WQS showed that had significant negative depression, being largest contributor two models. Lastly, reflected mixed 0.82, 0.69–0.99). Conclusion High are low Furthermore, co-exposure is crucial factor contributing this population.

Postpartum depression, with a prevalence ranging between 14% and 25% worldwide, has been considered an urgent health concern that negatively affects both mothers' their infants' health. depression may affect maternal sociodemographic anthropometric parameters lifestyle factors. Nutrition recently identified as crucial factor for the management co-treatment of postpartum depression. This survey aims to determine possible association socio-demographic characteristics, perinatal outcomes, breastfeeding practices, Mediterranean diet (MD) adherence. This is cross-sectional survey, which was performed on 3941 women during period. assessed by Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Anthropometric outcomes were retrieved from medical records. Sociodemographic data practices recorded face-to-face interviews enrolled mothers trained personnel. adherence MedDietScore. Both univariate multivariate binary logistic regression applied analyzing our data.Postpartum significantly associated lower educational level, Greek nationality, higher multiparity overweight/obesity postpartum, incidence caesarean section not breastfeeding, levels MD adherence. ABSTRACT This study explores the effects of a nutraceutical blend with prebiotics, β‐glucans, essential minerals, and silymarin on gut microbiota, inflammation, sleep quality in obesity through microbiota reshaping metabolic improvements over 90 days. A double‐blind, randomized trial was conducted 77 participants divided into two groups receiving either standard (NSupple) or silymarin‐enriched (NSupple_ Silybum ). Fecal plasma samples were collected at baseline post‐supplementation for metabolic, inflammatory marker analysis. The results showed reduction body weight, waist‐to‐height ratio, total cholesterol, fractions NSupple_ group. There dysbiosis recovery shown by increase beneficial bacteria, such as Lentisphaerae phylum, Lactobacillus Faecalibacterium genera, prausnitzii NSupple group, concurrent Adlercreutzia Sutterella Both demonstrated improved profiles reduced TNF‐α/IL‐10 cortisol levels, Firmicutes/Bacteroides ratio. Additionally, associated reductions pro‐inflammatory cytokines composition. reshaped enhanced anti‐inflammatory species, parameters, highlighting its potential nutritional strategy managing reducing inflammation.

A proper nutrition is essential for human life. Recently, special attention on this topic has been given in relation to three health statuses: obesity, malnutrition and specific diseases that can be related food or treated with diets. Mobile technology often used assist users wish regulate their eating habits, identifying which fields of application have explored the most by app developers main functionalities adopted useful view future developments. We selected 322 articles mentioning support apps through a literature database search, all undergone an initial screening. After exclusion papers were already reviews, not presenting focused nutrition, relevant developed subjects, 100 subsequent analyses aimed at conditions, outcome measures implemented Apps. Of studies, 33 focus diseases, 24 2 41 other targets (e.g., weight/diet control). Type diabetes targeted disease, followed gestational diabetes, hypertension, colorectal cancer CVDs more than one app. Most Apps include self-monitoring coaching functionalities, educational content artificial intelligence (AI) tools are slightly less common, whereas counseling, gamification questionnaires least implemented. Body weight calories/nutrients common general measures, while glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) was clinical outcome. No statistically significant differences effectiveness different found. The use mobile improve widely last years, especially control like diabetes; however, food-related conditions such as Irritable Bowel Diseases appear newly smartphone studies. All kinds equally effective, but further studies needed confirm results.
