ABSTRACT Melatonin ( N ‐acetyl‐5‐methoxytryptamine), a well‐known mammalian hormone, has been having great relevance in the Plant World recent years. Abstract The postharvest lifespan of horticultural products is closely related to loss nutritional quality, accompanied by a rapid decline in shelf life, commercial value, and marketability. Melatonin (MT) application not only maintains quality but also delays senescence products. This paper reviews biosynthesis metabolism endogenous MT, summarizes significant effects exogenous MT on products, examines regulatory mechanisms MT‐mediated effects, provides an integrated review for understanding the positive role delay maintenance. As multifunctional molecule, coordinates other signal molecules, such as ABA, ETH, JA, SA, NO, Ca 2+ , regulate ripening senescence. The untargeted metabolomics of Newhall navel oranges from three areas in China—Ganzhou, Fengjie, and Zigui—with geographical indication (GI) was measured using LC-MS/MS. Orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis performed for sample classification important metabolite identification. This approach identified the best markers origin able to discriminate Ganzhou, Zigui orange samples. For peeled samples, 2-isopropylmalic acid, succinic citric L-aspartic L-glutamic γ-semialdehyde, D-β-phenylalanine, hesperetin, hydrocinnamic 4-hydroxycinnamic dehydroascorbate were used origin. Melatonin (MT) is an elicitor that stimulates phenolic compounds biosynthesis and accumulation in fruits vegetables. However, its role regulating the phenylpropane metabolism during pepper ripening unclear. To investigate how exogenous MT regulates ripening, plant surfaces were sprayed with different concentrations (0 100 µmol·L-1) 10 days after anthesis. treatment improved quality. In particular, total phenolics flavonoids levels elevated, indicating affected metabolism. Furthermore, metabolomics identified 15 substances exhibiting high fold-change values treatment, including chlorogenic acid, gallic ferulic caffeic cynarin, p-coumaric cinnamic gentianic benzoic sinapic p-hydroxybenzoic protocatechuic rutin, quercetin, kaempferol. The impact of emerging stressors, such as pesticides and heavy metals, on the nutritional quality, resistance, antioxidant systems crops is subject intense monitoring. Due to its low toxicity biocompatibility, nano-selenium (nano-Se) increases capacity more effectively than selenium (Se). However, protective mechanism nano-Se in plum trees still unknown when subjected long-term abiotic stress. In this study, foliar application enhanced fruit's fresh weight diameter plant growth development by increasing content trace elements (Zn Se) amino acids (Try, Phe, Pro, Arg) leaves fruits. Abstract BACKGROUND In order to comprehend the regulatory mechanisms that result in alleviation of sweet cherry pitting disorder through cold shock (0 °C ice–water mixture for 10 min), an investigation was conducted into impacts treatment (CST) on membrane lipid metabolism, antioxidant enzyme activity, as well cold‐stored fruit. RESULTS CST significantly inhibited increase incidence, index, and decay incidence. The provided greater titratable acidity, firmness total content soluble solids. use prevented build‐up superoxide anions, hydrogen peroxide, malondialdehyde, reduced permeability cell membranes. When contrast control group, also raised expression levels along with activity enzymes ascorbate peroxidase (APX), glutathione reductase (GR), dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT). Furthermore, amount fruit peroxidation, suppressed phospholipase lipoxygenase, postponed rise saturated fatty acids (SFAs) decrease unsaturated (USFAs), ultimately keeping a high ratio USFAs SFAs.
