Harnessing the Benefits of Seed Oils: A Comprehensive Study on Their Role in Functional Foods

Abstract
There
has
been
a
growing
interest
in
functional
foods
recent
years
to
improve
health
and
boost
immunity,
particularly
since
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
which
reflects
their
significant
role
promoting
preventing
various
diseases,
especially
metabolic
disorders.
This
study
investigated
antimicrobial,
antioxidant,
anticoagulant,
prebiotic
activities
of
six
different
oils:
Calotropis
procera
oil
(CPO),
Chia
seed
(CSO),
Moringa
(MO),
Neem
(NO),
Black
(BSO),
Wheat
germ
(WGO)
potential
applications
nutrition.
The
DPPH
ABTS
assays
were
used
evaluate
antioxidant
activity
these
oils.
A
good
diffusion
assay
minimum
inhibitory
concentrations
(MIC)
method
investigate
antimicrobial
against
pathogenic
bacteria
fungi
human
interest.
Also,
oils
tested
on
three
probiotic
strains
Lactobacillus
growth
beneficial
E.
coli.
Furthermore,
haematological
effect

vitro
through
measuring
