An increasing trend toward harnessing nutraceuticals as food supplements rather than pharmaceuticals curative and preventive agents against various ailments has been observed. Owing to their health benefits, prebiotics have received notable attention from the pharmaceutical industries. Among different prebiotic oligosaccharides, xylooligosaccharides (XOS) exhibited a remarkable capacity stimulate growth of gut microbiota benefit individuals with metabolic abnormalities. Additionally, XOS can be produced renewable agricultural wastes, which supports economic feasibility for use at industrial level. This review explains microbiome modulation based on in vivo, vitro, clinical findings. Gut leads production postbiotics that beneficial effects. The current entails mechanisms health-promoting activities mediated by XOS, including immunomodulation anticancer concept converting synbiotics using established nutraceutical applications. Synbiotics probiotics may good alternatives improving human health.

Cereals are among the foods rich in myo-inositol hexakisphosphate (phytic acid, IP6), lower phosphates (IPx), a wide range of phenolic compounds, as well vitamins, minerals, oligosaccharides, phytosterols and para-aminobenzoic attributed with multiple bioactivities, particularly associated prevention metabolic syndrome colon cancer. The bran fraction wheat, maize, brown rice other cereals contains high levels phytate, free total phenolics, endogenous enzymes such amylases, phytase, xylanase, β-glucanase feruloyl esterase, whose activities can be increased by germination. preliminary steps digestion begin oral cavity where substrates for action cereal salivary start to released from food matrix. IP6 phytate complexes arabinoxylans, starch protein bodies would eventually enhance absorption nutrients, including regulating tight junctions and, together ferulic acid (FA), maintain cell barrier integrity epithelial antibacterial immunity. In addition, both FA exert potent complementary antioxidant effects, while IPx generated through advanced hydrolysis microbial phytases may affect digestive enzyme activity incretin secretion, resulting modulated insulin glucagon release various diabetic complications. Contrary widespread negative attitudes towards this review, we present strategy selecting content, esterase endoxylanase activities, produce value-added health-promoting foods. compounds and/or generate substantial amounts “enzymatically inositol” (EGI), IP6, myo-inositol, that, FA, provide enhanced bioavailability nutrients synergistic effects not previously realised.

ABSTRACT The study investigates the strain‐specific immunomodulatory properties of live and thermally‐inactivated (TI) lactic acid bacteria (LAB) derived from traditional Polish fermented foods, focusing on their potential as probiotics postbiotics. LAB strains, known for role in food fermentation, were assessed ability to influence cytokine production THP‐1 macrophages, maintain intestinal epithelial barrier integrity Caco‐2 monolayers, exhibit antioxidant activity, produce specific organic acids sugars. research demonstrated that strains significantly upregulated anti‐inflammatory IL‐10, particularly under inflammatory conditions, while TI exhibited notable properties. showed a greater protect function reduce pro‐inflammatory secretion than suggesting promising findings underscore demonstrating postbiotic derivatives can differently inflammation compared bacteria, highlighting immune‐enhancing agents, capable modulating immune responses offering therapeutic benefits against inflammation‐related disorders. However, limitations vitro models highlight need further vivo clinical studies validate these effects fully uncover health humans.
