This research aimed to assess the levels of AFM1 and evaluate associated health risks from raw milk samples collected randomly four selected towns. Ninety (n = 90) were smallholder dairy farmers in North Shewa Zone, with 23 Fiche, G/Gurracha, 22 Dagem, Sululta. The concentrations determined using high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD) after purification via an immunoaffinity column (IAC). was detected 76 (84.4%) samples, 53 (58.9%) exceeding maximum permissible limit established by European Commission, 0.0500 µg/L. highest content 2.00 µg/L lowest 0.0100 Additionally, risk assessment performed margin exposure (MOE), estimated daily intake (EDI), hazard index (HI), cancer (CR). results indicated that based on average contamination during study period typical consumption rates, EDI adult population ranged 0.374 0.852 ng/kg body weight (bw) per day. calculated MOE values less than 10,000, indicating potential concerns. mean HI value this 2.70, which also suggests adverse effects. Furthermore, developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) due among adults be 0.00170 cases 100 000 individuals yearly. finding indicates a significant HCC, justifies its continuous monitoring products throughout entire supply chain, production consumption. our highlights need for further investigation into posed children, given their higher relative adults.
