Residues of harmful substances in food can severely damage human health. The content these is generally low, making detection difficult. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), based on noble metal nanomaterials, mainly gold (Au) and silver (Ag), has exhibited excellent capabilities for trace various substances. Noble nanoassemblies, particular, have extraordinary flexibility tunable optical properties, which cannot be offered by single nanoparticles (NPs). These with their morphologies synthesized using NPs through artificially induced self-assembly or template-driven preparation, significantly enhance the local electric field create "hot spots" due to gaps between adjacent NPs. Consequently, SERS properties become more prominent, leading improved performance limits that are considerably lower than current relevant standards. nanoassemblies show promising potential ensuring safety. This review discusses synthesis methods then concentrates application detecting biotoxins, drug residues, illegal additives, heavy metals. study provides valuable references further research into safety detection.
