Heart aging involves a complex interplay of genetic and environmental influences, leading to gradual deterioration cardiovascular integrity function. Age-related physiological changes, including ventricular hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction, myocardial fibrosis, increased arterial stiffness, endothelial are influenced by key mechanisms like autophagy, inflammation, oxidative stress. Myocardial infarction (MI) triggers adverse remodeling mechanisms, thus leading to heart failure. Since the application of biomaterial-based scaffolds emerged as a viable approach for providing mechanical support and promoting cell growth, injectable hydrogels have garnered substantial attention in MI treatment because their minimally invasive administration through injection diminished risk infection. To fully understand interplay between infarcted myocardium repair, this review provides an overview recent advances hydrogel-mediated therapy, including: I) material designs repairing myocardium, considering pathophysiological mechanism design principles biomaterials treatment; II) development functional treatment, including conductive, self-healing, drug-loaded, stimulus-responsive hydrogels; III) research progress using restore cardiac function by neovascularization, enhancing cardiomyocyte proliferation, decreasing myocardial fibrosis, inhibiting excessive inflammation. The infectious agent for African trypanosomiasis, Trypanosoma brucei, possesses a unique and essential translocase of the mitochondrial inner membrane, known as TbTIM17 complex. TbTim17 associates with six small TbTims (TbTim9, TbTim10, TbTim11, TbTim12, TbTim13, TbTim8/13). However, interaction patterns these smaller each other are not clear. Through yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) co-immunoprecipitation analyses, we demonstrate that all interact other. Stronger interactions were found among TbTim8/13, TbTim9, TbTim10. TbTim10 shows weaker associations which has stronger connection TbTim17. Each also interacts strongly C-terminal region RNAi studies indicated TbTims, TbTim13 is most crucial maintaining steady-state levels Further analysis TbTim complexes by size exclusion chromatography revealed TbTim, except present in ~70 kDa complexes, possibly existing heterohexameric forms.
