Introduction: Fingermarks left at a crime scene can indicate the presence of an individual and his/her involvement in crime. Fingermarks, usually invisible, appear on any surface may be contaminated by exogenous substances, including drug substance. Recovery fingermarks substance is crucial to link with drug-related crimes. Hence, this study was aimed investigate recovery visualisation methamphetamine-contaminated from various non-porous materials. Methods: In study, were deposited 11 types materials varied methamphetamine contamination, immediacy deposition, their concentration levels. Each fingermark then developed using white black fingerprint powders, graded, compared based different settings. Results: Application powder good developing fingermarks; however, its suitability depends nature Black produced better where all tested successfully recovered powders. Methamphetamine-contaminated could still dusting method, but grade reduced due Conclusion: To conclude, surfaces carried out through application powder. A more severe contamination might lead lower showing lesser ridge details.

In the fingerprint research area, development of 'old' fingerprints (FPs) or FPs taken on porous, smooth surfaces, preservation developed and visualization sweat pores are unsolved issues. this report, we have synthesized explored 4,5-bis(diethylene glycol) functionalized 1,8-naphthalimide (Naph-DG) dye for addressing these The Naph-DG possesses high quantum yield (φ = 4.22) in solid-state suitable latent, old, stained using powder dusting method non-porous coloured surfaces up to levels 1–3. Depending upon hydrophobicity surface, Chameleon emits blue, blue-greenish greenish fluorescence ridges FPs. practical applicability was demonstrated case studies. with can be lifted scotch tape preservation. also used (i) as a fluorescent ink anti-counterfeiting labels (ii) molecular recognition Fe3+ low 42 nM CH3CN.

Abstract Novel naphthalimide based fluorescent dye NI‐1 possess (i) high quantum yield, (ii) blue emission (λ em =450 nm), (iii) CIE coordinate (x=0.21, y=0.35) with 39 % colour purity in solid state, (iv) photochemical and thermal stability up to 200 o C (v) low cytotoxicity normal cells L929. was doped nano porous silica used as powder for imaging of latent fingerprints (LFPs) on coloured surfaces, barcode, wood, brick, leaf engraved steel beside other common household nonporous surfaces. We demonstrated visibility levels 1–3 ceramic tile, glass, paper, steel, iron compact disc using powder. Furthermore, LFPs developed were successfully lifted from different surfaces adhesive tape documentation archiving purposes. To mimic the automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS), we manually screened 16 subjects identify unknown subject. The unique minutiae points such long hook, opposite bifurcation, crossbar, cross over, dock, triple lake spikes observed points.
