Abstract The Baise horse, an indigenous horse breed mainly distributed in the region of Guangxi province southwest China, has a long history as draft animal. However, there is lack research regarding origin and ancestral composition horse. Selection pressures found in the prevailing production environments have shaped genetic structure of indigenous chickens we see today. Indigenous chickens, raised villages, provide essential resources and income for poverty alleviation by providing affordable protein.
