Agricultural Land Suitability Analysis plays a pivotal role in sustainable land use planning, aiding decision-makers identifying areas most conducive to agriculture. This study employs systematic approach integrating Analytical Hierarchy Process and Multi-Criteria Decision techniques assess prioritize the suitability of agricultural Southern Punjab (Multan region). The methodology involves defining clear objectives, relevant criteria sub-criteria, establishing hierarchical structure conducting pairwise comparisons determine relative importance each factor. Our outcomes indicated that almost 43% area was highly suitable for agriculture, 27% moderately suitable, 16% marginally 8% less 6% not agriculture area. All lands had silty clay or type soil, which sandy loam soil Multan region. output is comprehensive map identifies Sensitivity analysis validation are incorporated enhance robustness reliability results. provides valuable tool planners policymakers make informed decisions regarding allocation, contributing practices resource management.

Abstract Land suitability models for Canada are currently based on single-crop inventories and expert opinion. We present a data-driven multi-layer perceptron that simultaneously predicts the land of several crops in Canada, including barley, peas, spring wheat, canola, oats, soy. Available crop yields from 2013–2020 downscaled to farm level by masking district yield data focus only areas where cultivated leveraging soil-climate-landscape variables obtained Google Earth Engine prediction. This new semi-supervised learning approach can accommodate different spatial resolutions enables training with unlabelled data. The incorporation indicator function further allows multi-crop model capture interdependences correlations between various crops, thereby leading more accurate predictions. Through k-fold cross-validation, we show compared single models, our could produce up 2.82 fold reduction mean absolute error any particular crop. found mixed grains were tolerant variations be grown many regions while non-grain sensitive environmental factors. Predicted was associated region’s growing season length, which supports climate change projections northern will become suitable agricultural use. proposed facilitate assessment lands cultivation incorporated into cost-benefit analyses.

This research presents a GIS-based approach to evaluate land suitability for the urbanization of Saudi Arabia’s NEOM region, an ambitious initiative sustainable development within desert setting. By employing multi-criteria decision-making framework, we have synthesized data on resources, stability, accessibility, construction costs, and proximity conservation areas using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) prioritize these factors based their importance growth. Our analysis reveals that designated with grid values 9 8, totaling 6312.33 square kilometers or 28.23% area studied, are most favorable urban development. These sectors span northern, central, southern parts NEOM, which notable strategic location near future infrastructure natural assets conducive practices. finding supports NEOM’s key initiatives such as “The Line,” “Oxagon,” “TROJENA,” showcasing model’s utility in directing strategies. The study discusses broader socio-economic environmental ramifications pinpointing suited unsuited development, underlining role facilitating aligns expansion stewardship. Furthermore, it advocates leveraging development-restricted zones efforts renewable energy ventures. Nevertheless, concedes certain limitations, dependence static datasets inherent challenges related AHP method, including presumption criteria independence. Future avenues proposed, emphasizing integration dynamic sources, comprehensive socio-cultural impact evaluations, adopting flexible planning methodologies refine precision practicality. Overall, this detailed examination showcases blueprint exemplar environments, illustrating systematic strategy developing regions integrate innovation, ecological sustainability, preservation cultural heritage.

On a global scale, there is consensus to double food production as means address and nutrition insecurity, yet the capacity of available resources technologies gratify demands this growing population price agricultural commodities remains uncertain in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Ethiopia. Despite availability fertile land, inappropriate use that resource leads reduced productivity, little known about insecurity impacts on southwestern This study was aimed at spatial modeling land suitability evaluation for Eragrostis tef Zucc Hordeum Vulgare L crops Misha district. About 11 variables related topography, climate, soil have been considered resampled 10 m resolution. The analysis result indicated that, 33.4% 21.8% total area found be highly suitable, 54% 63% categorized into moderately suitable crop cultivation, respectively, whereas 12.7% 15.3% not above mentioned crops. decision support system reflects has mammoth potential productive lands, which are most likely promised satisfy demand raw materials. Therefore, stakeholders should make hard-nosed efforts sage adopt exactly optimum plans advance current cropland maximize yield sensational way healthier development region.

The oasis serves as the primary supply of cultivable land, along with hub for human production and habitation in Xinjiang. Accordingly, predicting land use these areas based on various goals is an effective instrument encouraging sensible distribution resource space. study investigated creation a use-allocation optimization model objectives ecological protection, food security, urban growth using Weigan–Kuche River example. GMOP-PLUS model’s restriction conversion area was adjusted to include findings suitability evaluation. Additionally, it optimized simulated spatial arrangement quantitative structure usage 2035. results indicate following: (1) overall accuracy 89.36%, its Kappa coefficient 0.872, more than 0.8. Thus, can be considered adoption future when changes districts counties oasis; (2) evaluation, percentage that are most suited agricultural development, protection 39.32%, 24.21%, 14.06%, respectively; (3) three scenarios satisfy demands within oasis, varies considerably response development objectives, construction cultivated undergoing substantial modifications. multi-scenario simulation provide essential support range perspectives planning socioeconomic decision-making oasis. This both efficient resources sustainable development.

The land suitability in the Ratnagiri district (India) for mango crop has been assessed using a combination of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) with GIS-based analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and sensitivity analysis. Five criteria are applied this study to analyze affecting production, viz., topography, climate, soil properties, erosion risk, water conservation practices, all production. To prepare maps plants, weights were identified through expert opinions pairwise comparison matrix. A weighted overlay tool available ArcGIS software was most sensitive parameters by developing testing total 26 weighting schemes. After analyzing parameters, related such as terracing, contour trenching, stone bund, etc. found significant factors, before after implementing measures. As result, it observed that practices implemented, area highly suitable (19.4%) moderately (68.8%) classes expected rise, while marginally (7%) class decrease. This research revealed combining MCDM AHP well analysis techniques increased reliability output each criterion.

Preferential flow refers to the specific pathways through which water flows, including biopores, fractures, and macropores. Soil preferential has become increasingly important in face of changing climates, erratic rainfall patterns, for effective rainwater management. In semi-arid regions, watersheds serve as fundamental hydrologic units, providing a holistic perspective study soil flow. Given that limited research been conducted on dryland regions southern India, Hayathnagar watershed Hyderabad was selected this study. Land uses at different elevations were considered systematically collect data flow, allowing an analysis how variations elevation land use influence dynamics across landscape watershed. Brilliant blue tracer experiments sites within assess investigate subsurface movement three (cropped, fallow, forest) under varying elevations. Vertical profile images captured using Canon EOS 1300D digital camera, producing high-resolution (5184 × 3456 pixels). These then processed ArcGIS 10.3 ImageJ. The presence clearly evident all lower reach, with least elevation, exhibited highest dye coverage, correlating greater uniform infiltration depth values. Furthermore, middle reach displayed maximum indicated by higher fraction values, further justified evaluation index. Heterogeneous matrix fingering observed both surface sub-surface, along macropore low mixed interactions. findings methodology have significant implications understanding diverse region. By enhancing our soil–water patterns profile, contributes development management strategies such areas.
