This study employs systematic approach integrating Analytical Hierarchy Process and Multi-Criteria Decision techniques assess prioritize the suitability of agricultural Southern Punjab (Multan region). The methodology involves defining clear objectives, relevant criteria sub-criteria, establishing hierarchical structure conducting pairwise comparisons determine relative importance each factor. Our outcomes indicated that almost 43% area was highly suitable for agriculture, 27% moderately suitable, 16% marginally 8% less 6% not agriculture area. All lands had silty clay or type soil, which sandy loam soil Multan region. output is comprehensive map identifies Sensitivity analysis validation are incorporated enhance robustness reliability results. provides valuable tool planners policymakers make informed decisions regarding allocation, contributing practices resource management.

Abstract Land suitability models for Canada are currently based on single-crop inventories and expert opinion. We present a data-driven multi-layer perceptron that simultaneously predicts the land of several crops in Canada, including barley, peas, spring wheat, canola, oats, soy. Available crop yields from 2013–2020 downscaled to farm level by masking district yield data focus only areas where cultivated leveraging soil-climate-landscape variables obtained Google Earth Engine prediction. This new semi-supervised learning approach can accommodate different spatial resolutions enables training with unlabelled data. The incorporation indicator function further allows multi-crop model capture interdependences correlations between various crops, thereby leading more accurate predictions. Through k-fold cross-validation, we show compared single models, our could produce up 2.82 fold reduction mean absolute error any particular crop. found mixed grains were tolerant variations be grown many regions while non-grain sensitive environmental factors. Predicted was associated region’s growing season length, which supports climate change projections northern will become suitable agricultural use. proposed facilitate assessment lands cultivation incorporated into cost-benefit analyses.

This research presents a GIS-based approach to evaluate land suitability for the urbanization of Saudi Arabia’s NEOM region, an ambitious initiative sustainable development within desert setting. By employing multi-criteria decision-making framework, we have synthesized data on resources, stability, accessibility, construction costs, and proximity conservation areas using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) prioritize these factors based their importance growth. Our analysis reveals that designated with grid values 9 8, totaling 6312.33 square kilometers or 28.23% area studied, are most favorable urban development. These sectors span northern, central, southern parts NEOM, which notable strategic location near future infrastructure natural assets conducive practices. finding supports NEOM’s key initiatives such as “The Line,” “Oxagon,” “TROJENA,” showcasing model’s utility in directing strategies. The study discusses broader socio-economic environmental ramifications pinpointing suited unsuited development, underlining role facilitating aligns expansion stewardship. Furthermore, it advocates leveraging development-restricted zones efforts renewable energy ventures. Nevertheless, concedes certain limitations, dependence static datasets inherent challenges related AHP method, including presumption criteria independence. Future avenues proposed, emphasizing integration dynamic sources, comprehensive socio-cultural impact evaluations, adopting flexible planning methodologies refine precision practicality. Overall, this detailed examination showcases blueprint exemplar environments, illustrating systematic strategy developing regions integrate innovation, ecological sustainability, preservation cultural heritage.

The oasis serves as the primary supply of cultivable land, along with hub for human production and habitation in Xinjiang. Accordingly, predicting land use these areas based on various goals is an effective instrument encouraging sensible distribution resource space. study investigated creation a use-allocation optimization model objectives ecological protection, food security, urban growth using Weigan–Kuche River example. GMOP-PLUS model’s restriction conversion area was adjusted to include findings suitability evaluation. Additionally, it optimized simulated spatial arrangement quantitative structure usage 2035. results indicate following: (1) overall accuracy 89.36%, its Kappa coefficient 0.872, more than 0.8. Thus, can be considered adoption future when changes districts counties oasis; (2) evaluation, percentage that are most suited agricultural development, protection 39.32%, 24.21%, 14.06%, respectively; (3) three scenarios satisfy demands within oasis, varies considerably response development objectives, construction cultivated undergoing substantial modifications. multi-scenario simulation provide essential support range perspectives planning socioeconomic decision-making oasis. Abstract The Western Desert of Egypt offers substantial potential for agricultural development to mitigate the nation’s food security issues. study uses a multi-criteria decision-making framework based on FAO land suitability classification and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) determine if area is good farming. Essential factors, such as evapotranspiration (ETo), precipitation, soil types, slope, use/land cover (LULC), are classified merged into Remote Sensing (RS) GIS-based weighted overlay analysis provide detailed map. results show that we categorize 20.74% research highly suitable (S1) 41.56% moderately (S2). Furthermore, 37.36% marginally (S3), while just 0.33% labeled currently not (N1), there no regions designated permanently (N2). This suggests feasibility using whole region purposes, albeit differing degrees intervention may be necessary. lack N2 category underscores viability reclamation initiatives, contingent upon effective resource management. shows combining AHP, GIS Rs technologies can help you figure out farming, which big making smart decisions about long-term farming planning. practical recommendations policymakers improve distribution emphasize advancement in Desert, bolstering national initiatives strengthen security.
