Climate change and population growth have placed increasing stress on groundwater resources. Effective management of resources is crucial for promoting sustainable development, especially in areas heavily reliant supply. However, more complex due to various factors affecting key drivers their feedback interactions. In this regard, study aims examine the driving forces interplay concerning fluctuations levels within a area Illinois, United States, which relies water To achieve objective, system dynamics (SD) simulation model was developed, utilizing hydrology, climate, urbanization data spanning from 2010 2020. Through calibration validation SD with historical data, demonstrated reliable capabilities levels. Additionally, sensitivity analysis exploration resource scenarios were conducted evaluate critical influencing Results revealed that dynamics, agricultural land, recharge analyzed as level area, among climate had different contributions dynamics. A 10% increase population, led decrease approximately 5.5% increases 4.5% 4.27% levels, respectively. The results four-scenario indicated both exerted significant adverse impacts area. These represented prominent worst-case situations, highlighting potential challenges risks associated combination these factors, resulted about 77 mm by 2030. Overall, given limited availability parameterization, emphasizes need consider effects supplies decision-making management, well adequate measures maintain long-term usage

Abstract Groundwater, Earth’s largest nonfrozen freshwater reservoir, is vital for water supply security. Groundwater models help to manage complex domestic, agricultural, and industrial demands while preserving ecosystem health under climate change. The community-driven groundwater model portal (GroMoPo) hosts metadata analyse biases distribution of models. Over 450 are currently featured on GroMoPo, with most from high-GDP countries at local-to-regional scales. GroMoPo initiative addresses current knowledge gaps facilitates future collaboration data sharing.

Groundwater is a crucial source of drinking water worldwide. The 2022 UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) report highlighted gap in groundwater monitoring data One way to fill this through community-engaged research (CEnR). This identifies factors contributing the success CEnR programs and evaluates practicability tools for quality monitoring. Specifically, we assessed accuracy applicability commercial test kits measuring primary standards regulated by US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). We evaluated testing principle classified them into all-in-one combination kit groups. determined that are more accurate reliable compared with tests identified most suitable involving private well owners. Additionally, discussed importance considerations, interactions between researchers communities, training ensure program success.

ABSTRACT The rate of groundwater extraction has seen an exponential rise in India over the past few decades. Several districts country face depletion and contamination issues, threatening agricultural domestic usage. overexploitation resource can be attributed to sowing water-intensive crops, distortionary subsidies, absence incentives, asymmetrical information, regulatory bottlenecks. This paper presents a comparative analysis experiences various states regulating extraction. It discusses both legal institutional components current framework explores conservation policies from demand supply sides. highlights issues zoning registration wells, promotion water-saving practices, implementation recharge projects for aquifers improvement governance as potential solutions alleviate ongoing crisis. Furthermore, emphasises importance sustainable management, community engagement, frameworks tackle like depletion. Lastly, it suggests actionable steps policymakers promote practices ensure secure future India's resources.
