The Wadi Hanifah, a crucial aquatic ecosystem, has unfavorable consequences from natural occurrences and human activities. Recognizing the critical need for sustainable water management, this study provides an in-depth evaluation of wadi quality. A comprehensive assessment was conducted, analyzing physical properties (temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, color, odor), chemical constituents (nitrogen compounds, ion concentrations, heavy metals), bacterial diversity. found significant temperature fluctuations, particularly in sun-exposed or stagnant areas. exhibited slight alkalinity variable conductivity indicating differing pollution levels. High ammonia metal concentrations suggested organic industrial contamination, respectively. In addition, prevalent fecal-indicator bacteria pointed to possible sewage agricultural runoff. research highlights complex interplay anthropogenic factors affecting Hanifah’s It emphasizes location-specific environmental management strategies focusing on control conservation safeguard wadi’s ecological health. This vital insights effective resource serving as model similar ecosystems.

One of the most popular tourist destinations is St. Martin's Island, which features a unique coral colony Bangladesh and various ecosystems. However, tourists, other outsiders, island's growing human population significantly influence overall standard socio-ecological environment, narrowly described in existing literature. The research aims to assess state particularly quality water, housing, soil, flora fauna, cropping pattern, key degradation island. A questionnaire survey was used housing patterns ownership, drinking water sources, pollutants, vegetation, patterns, environmental issues. Furthermore, samples from coastal regions tube wells were obtained 138 sampling points examined renowned laboratory leading Council Scientific Industrial Research (BCSIR). Measurements made five physiochemical parameters such as pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electrical Conductivity (EC), arsenic, chlorine. profile-based soil sand assessed based on Organic matter, TotalSoluble Salt, CaCO3. study found saltwater along coast had range electrical conductivity 371 7830, TDS 194 8692 ppm, Cl concentration 0.50 2.49 mg/l, arsenic content 0.00 0.49, pH 5.50 8.09. findings indicate that semi-brick accounted for 40% settlement while brick up 19.7%, 37.9% residential purposes, 34.8% it commercial purposes (e.g., hotels, resorts, restaurants etc.). Most hotels areas well explicitly declared pollution nearby distant communities cause deterioration

This study presents a strategic assessment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries' transition from hydrocarbon dependence to renewable energy, with focus on net-zero goals and sustainable development. Anchored in foundational drivers such as environmental concerns, economic diversification, energy security, research identifies emerging drivers, including green diplomacy, enhanced competitiveness, rise geopolitical power, which together bring region's into global spotlight. Using mixed-methods approach, integrates quantitative model analyzing capacity trends qualitative insights that contextualize socio-economic complexities affecting this shift. Linear regression models reveal disparities progress, UAE demonstrating strong alignment its targets, while Bahrain Kuwait exhibit slower growth. The highlights events, Russia-Ukraine conflict, have intensified fossil fuel demand, challenging GCC's it continues fulfill role major provider. Policy recommendations include investing renewables, fostering partnerships, reducing subsidies, introducing region-specific incentives promote resilience, welfare. offers actionable for policymakers planning underscores importance cooperation supporting transition.

The effective detection and monitoring of mining tailings’ leachates (MTLs) plays a pivotal role in environmental protection remediation efforts. Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is non-invasive technique widely employed for mapping subsurface contaminant plumes. However, the efficacy ERT depends on selecting optimal electrode array each specific case. This study addresses this challenge by conducting comprehensive review published case studies utilizing to characterize tailings. Through numerical simulations, we compare imaging capabilities commonly used configurations, six arrays, aiming identify MTLs’ monitoring. In addition, field surveys employing were conducted at El Mochito mine tailings site detect zones saturated with within tailing storage facilities (TSFs). findings indicate that “Wenner-Schlumberger” exhibits superior data resolution MTL detection. choice contingent factors such as survey location, geological considerations, research objectives, processing time cost, logistical constraints. serves practical guide most context pollutant penetration from tailings, technique. Furthermore, it contributes valuable insights into characterizing TSFs, providing solid foundation informed management strategies.

Groundwater, a vital freshwater resource catering to agricultural, domestic, and industrial needs, faces pressing challenge of contamination due escalating human activities. This study focuses on the Ayad River Basin in Udaipur district Rajasthan, employing FEFLOW simulation code for first time. A steady-state numerical model groundwater contaminant prediction total dissolved solids (TDS), nitrate, fluoride were developed, simulating trends over next five years with an accuracy exceeding 95%. The results reveal eastward increase TDS, concentrations, attributed from two waste disposal sites-Titadi Baleecha. Titadi, operational four decades until closure 2010, retains residual 32 thousand m2. initiation new dumping ground at Baleecha by Municipal Corporation post-2010 exacerbates regional contamination. Nitrate is particularly high agricultural zones excessive chemical fertilizer usage. Of 27 scenarios tested, 23 support using water irrigation but would require treatment before it drinking. Recommendations include deploying sensor network real-time data input into web enabled model, monitoring alerts, mobile application providing personalized guidance usage health risks case can be beneficial decision-makers, who work policy management strategies.
