Exploring the coordinated development process of people–land allocation in urbanization urban agglomerations is great significance to promote improvement level and quality realize healthy urbanization. We took nine China as research object coupling between expansion population growth entry point. The overall spatial were used reveal relationship at different time periods. found that both construction land within each agglomeration stage continuous growth, increase was similar synchronous. increasing. rate a factor influences i.e., greater land, higher growth. This study provides new perspective for exploring offers approach studying two.

Abstract Urbanisation is changing food systems globally, and in particular sub-Saharan Africa South Asia. This transformation can affect rural livelihoods multiple ways. Evidence on what enabling conditions are needed to materialise the opportunities limit risks scattered. Here we review scientific literature elaborate how urbanisation affects systems, that subsequently shape for livelihoods. We find leads a rising demand, both direct indirect land use changes, often more complex market linkages. shows wide range of contribute materialisation this context. Reviewed evidence suggests connectivity urban centres pivotal, as it provides access finance, inputs, information, services, off-farm employment. As result, physical communication infrastructure, spatial pattern urbanisation, social networks connecting farmers markets identified important factors improvement livelihood outcomes. Our findings suggest coordinated inclusive efforts at different scales make sure benefit from system transformation.

Urban agglomeration is an important carrier that promotes urbanization into advanced stage, addressing its unbalanced development task for the newly established territorial spatial planning in China. This research proposed a collaborative optimal allocation of urban land (COAUL) model which provides simulation tool both quantity and structure optimization agglomeration. COAUL first optimizes structures every city according to current situation, potential capacity policy. And then optimized assigned geo-space with use model. has been applied Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), fast-developing located Southern China, three main findings are obtained: (1) can optimize goal balanced development, could provide scientific reference scenario delimitation agglomerations growth boundaries (UAGB). (2) As cities have strong connections each other, considerably relieve pressures developed central also promote undeveloped edge cities. (3) unlimitedly reduce imbalanced tendency agglomeration, performance better than traditional models. demonstrated delimiting UAGB government measure promoting areas.

Land consumption delineates how effectively we use our living space - whether wastefully in area or efficiently. As the United Nations (UN) projects 5.1 billion population will live urban areas 2030, it is crucial to measure, compare, and understand land for cities across globe. Currently global approaches analysis rely on settlement layers produced by remote sensing data achieved distributing census over layers. These layers, however, do not have sufficient spatial details capture intra-urban structural variability within a city. In this study, develop classification system that consistently produces accurate local climate zone (LCZ) maps at scale 40 using Sentinel data. We LCZ classes as proxies disaggregate grids (GHS-POP) scale. With refined data, perform an Our measurements shows current per-city studies severely deviate from variability. argue must proceed resolution. addition, also indicate differing immensely
