Adaptation provides a new perspective for the study of farmers’ livelihood transformation and sustainability. This research aimed to explore influencing factors different types adaptation during rural transformation. Abstract The COVID-19 posed severe public health effects across the world to an extent that it was declared a pandemic. Aside are other consequences associated with measures such as lockdown, isolation and physical distancing curb spread of virus. This study assesses impact pandemic on households their adaptation different residential density zones in Abeokuta, Nigeria, novelty understanding its socio-spatial context. utilised quantitative research design based cross-sectional survey for phases data collection, analysis interpretation. A two-stage sampling technique employed selecting 422 participants study. All were administered questionnaire 391 copies considered during analysis. analysed using cross-tabulation hypotheses tested ANOVA. Findings socioeconomic characteristics showed distribution respondents descriptively varied high, medi zones. Evidence significant variances ([F (2, 388) = 30.406, p 0.000]) strategies 39.539, established Abeokuta. practical implication provides policymakers stakeholders targeted interventions support households. theoretical is about contributing existing body knowledge pandemics by establishing context highlighting need context-specific responses.

Abstract The intent of households to relocate amidst floods in Ghana's Greater Accra Metropolitan Area, using combined socio‐demographic and physical factors is analyzed within 1206 households. National Master Sampling Frame Population Housing Census utilized for the sampling. Probit estimation technique employed understand intersectionality social, economic, demographic, considerations influencing households' decision‐making regarding relocation flood risks. findings show reluctance contrary considered mostly as preferred adaptation. likelihood relocating exhibited a non‐linear pattern, decreasing only when population was younger until age 55 before reversing. Indigenous not relocate. In communities where place attachment revenue sources significantly impacted decisions, with secondary education, past experiences, non‐indigenous status influenced higher perception risk. Therefore, an effective global adaptation strategy widespread. Thus, empowering accept certain level risk potentially avoids maladaptation involves combination hard infrastructure measures regulatory approaches places residence that do compromise livelihoods. However, if becomes necessary, right‐based approach must be favored over absolute risk‐based approach.
