Housing is an important social determinant of health, but the perspectives asylum seekers and refugees (ASR) in large, centralised reception centres remain under-researched. We therefore sought to examine which housing aspects are deemed relevant for health by ASR Germany. Based on 47 interviews with 42 Germany originating from three different studies, we conducted a secondary qualitative analysis. mapped interview transcripts onto existing frameworks generated four central themes regarding relationship between centres. affected key ways: 1) Material conditions, including crowding, hygiene conditions inability secure doors, created exacerbated physical mental issues, 2) unpredictability instability impeded integration disrupted professional support networks, 3) through forced residential assignment limited autonomy, "homemaking" severely constrained, leading worsened 4) do not make sufficient accommodations individuals specific medical needs. Refugees and other New Americans faced unique mental health barriers before during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reduced access to supports services in this population indicates a need for new community-based interventions. This paper explored refugee parents' young adults' perceptions of facilitators encountered by resettled refugees (ages 10-24) their parents. Using an interpretive phenomenology approach form participatory research (CBPR), we designed focus group guide with student community members from various immigrant communities. We held eight gender- language-concordant groups parents, four gender-concordant adults (18-24), facilitated members. Abstract Background Refugees are at an elevated risk of some mental disorders with studies highlighting the contributing role post-migration factors. Studies migrant groups show neighborhood social composition, such as ethnic density, to be important. This is first longitudinal study examine this question for refugees and uses a novel quasi-experimental design. Methods We followed cohort 44 033 from being assigned housing under Danish dispersal policy, operating 1986 1998, until 2019. comprised, in effect, natural experiment whereby influence could determined independently endogenous examined three aspects composition: proportion co-nationals, refugees, first-generation migrants; subsequent incidence different disorders. Results neighborhoods fewer co-nationals (lowest v. highest quartile) were more likely receive diagnosis non-affective psychosis, incident rate ratio (IRR) 1.25 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.06–1.48), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), IRR 1.21 CI I.05–1.39). Women from refugee backgrounds generally experience poorer pregnancy-related outcomes compared to host populations. To examine the trend and disparities in adverse perinatal among women of background using population-based data 2003 2017. A cross-sectional study 754,270 singleton births Victoria mothers with Australian-born mothers. Inferential statistics, including Pearson chi-square binary logistic regression, were conducted. Multiple regression was conducted explore relationship between women's status. had higher odds neonatal maternal outcomes, stillbirth, death, low APGAR score, small for gestational age, postpartum haemorrhage, abnormal labour, perineal tear, admission intensive care women. However, they lower care, pre-eclampsia, postnatal depression. The analysis showed limited signs gaps closing over time outcomes. Refugee associated unfavourable highlighting negative influence status on health. This evidences need address unique healthcare requirements this vulnerable population enhance well-being newborns.
