ABSTRACT
Nowadays,
performance
studies
on
the
amperometric
total
residual
oxidant
(TRO)
sensor
are
only
in
bench
test
stage
and
have
not
been
conducted
under
specific
maritime
conditions
with
Ballast
Water
Management
System
(BWMS).
In
this
study,
application
of
TRO
land-based
biological
efficacy
(BE)
testing,
operation
maintenance
(O&M)
as
well
shipboard
(SB)
was
explored
by
comparing
existing
di-phenylene-diamine
(DPD)
sensor.
The
results
showed
that
average
measurement
deviation
between
DPD
within
±10%
valid
BE
cycles
O&M
testing
exceeding
47
operating
hours.
value
measured
exhibited
significant
fluctuations,
but
improved
control
logic
could
achieve
smoothing
out
fluctuation,
stability
comparable
to
or
even
higher
than
practicality
reliability

BWMS
