Resveratrol, a polyphenolic compound known for its diverse biological activities, has demonstrated multiple pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, and cardiovascular protective properties. Recent studies suggest that these effects are partly mediated through the regulation of macrophage polarization, wherein macrophages differentiate into pro-inflammatory M1 or anti-inflammatory M2 phenotypes. Our review highlights how resveratrol modulates polarization various signaling pathways to achieve therapeutic effects. For example, can activate senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) pathway inhibit signal transducer activator transcription (STAT3) sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P)-YAP axes, promoting suppressing thereby inhibiting tumor growth. Conversely, it promote suppress by NF-κB activating PI3K/Akt AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathways, thus alleviating inflammatory responses. Notably, effect on is concentration-dependent; moderate concentrations tend while higher may favor polarization. This concentration dependence offers new perspectives clinical treatment but also underscores necessity precise dosage control when using resveratrol. In summary, exhibits significant potential in regulating treating related diseases.

Liver disease represents a significant global public health concern. Silybin, derived from Silybum marianum, has been demonstrated to exhibit range of beneficial properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antifibrotic, antiviral, and cytoprotective effects. These attributes render it promising candidate for the treatment liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, cancer, viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty disease, other conditions. Nevertheless, its low solubility bioavailability have emerged as limitations in clinical application. To address these limitations, researchers developed number silybin formulations. This study presents comprehensive review results research on diseases recent decades, with particular focus novel formulations based pathogenesis disease. include approaches targeting via CD44 receptor, folic acid, vitamin A, others. The liver is a complex organ that performs vital functions in the body. Despite its extraordinary regenerative capacity compared to other organs, exposure chemical, infectious, metabolic and immunologic insults toxins renders vulnerable inflammation, degeneration fibrosis. Abnormal wound healing response mediated by aberrant signaling pathways causes chronic activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) excessive accumulation extracellular matrix (ECM), leading fibrosis cirrhosis. Fibrosis plays key role carcinogenesis. Once thought be irreversible, recent clinical studies show can reversed, even advanced stage. Experimental evidence shows removal insult or injury inactivate HSCs reduce inflammatory response, eventually fibrolysis degradation ECM. Thus, it critical understand gene-environment interactions context progression regression order identify specific therapeutic targets for optimized treatment induce regression, prevent HCC development and, ultimately, improve outcome.
