This study investigated the impacts of LULC changes on selected ecosystem services in Maze National Park (MzNP) and its environs southwestern Ethiopia. Landsat images from 1985, 2005, 2020 were used to examine land use cover (LULC) changes. Images classified using Random Forest (RF) classifier, their accuracy was computed QGIS. Ecosystem service values (ESVs) then estimated benefit transfer method employing Service Valuation Database (ESVD) coefficients. Additionally, socioeconomic survey conducted understand local community's perceptions regarding dynamics services. The findings revealed a significant increase croplands (103.7%) built-up areas (31.32%), while riverine forests, water bodies, wooded grasslands declined. overall ESVs decreased by 20%, 2038.42 million USD 1985 1628.72 2020, mainly driven reductions forests grasslands. As for individual period only food production increased 0.7 USD, supply, climate regulation, raw materials, recreation tourism declined 180.35, 2.67, 45.72, 481.62 respectively. coefficient sensitivity ranged 0.01 0.94, <1, that our estimates are relatively robust. such as grazing, recreation, wild food, firewood highly valued residents, but they declining over time due environmental degradation restrictions access park. Thus, understanding can help decision-makers design effective protected area management plans reduce potential conflicts resource uses. The Yellow River Delta (YRD) stands as a globally significant wetland, playing pivotal role in sustaining regional ecosystem stability and offering crucial services to humanity. However, anthropogenic activities, particularly resource development, unavoidably disrupt the ecosystem, leading degradation of these vital services. Utilizing satellite remote sensing data, InVEST model, energy analysis, this study introduces concept ‘emergy’ an ‘intermediate variable’ investigate spatiotemporal changes service value YRD. Five distinct types are selected for quantitative assessment analysis YRD’s evolution from 1990 2020. Abstract Analyzing land use and cover (LULC) is crucial for understanding community development evaluating changes in the Anthropocene era. Traditional LULC mapping struggles with challenges like capturing under cloud limited ground truth data. To enhance accuracy comprehensiveness of change descriptions, this study applies a blend advanced techniques. Specifically, it utilizes Landsat-8 satellite imagery 30- meter multitemporal resolution, alongside computing capabilities Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Additionally, random forest (RF) algorithm integrated into study. This research aims to generate sustainable maps Samin Watershed years 2014 2023. A novel dual composite RF approach based on classification used create final map, leveraging RF-50 RF-100 tree models. Both models seven input bands (B1 B7) as datasets classification.

Therefore, research aim to understand LULC changes Chattogram Metropolitan Area assess policy implications these development. Through a comparative analysis maps two periods (1997–2007; 2007–2017), we investigated transformation detailed zone before after area plan (DAP) approval. Using mixed-method approach integrating quantitative data with analysis, elucidated impacts trends on local ecosystems—specifically conversion forest waterscape use. The findings reveal significant forested areas peri-urban landscapes, highlighting urgent need interventions that focus areas. study further critiques DAP's effectiveness, revealing disconnect between regional implementation outcomes. Clarifying the driving mechanisms of spatial and temporal changes in regulating ecosystem service value (RESV) is an important part realizing goal sustainable development. Existing studies have focused on specific factors, ignoring complex interactions between factors their regional differences. In this regard, RESV its different zones (core area, fringe peripheral area) were explored Poyang Lake Area, China. The results showed that spatially distribution characteristics area > core while lakes influenced provision services, showing per unit was higher gradually declined with increase distance from lakes, presenting decreasing trend area. From 2000 to 2020, study lost 70.5988 billion CNY for RESV, which most affected. Further analysis mechanism areas found there are differences paths factors: Population density mainly affects precipitation GDP land
