The COVID-19 pandemic upended the lives of adolescents and young adults across globe. In response to onset, educational institutions were forced pivot online learning, a new teaching learning format for most secondary university students. This systematic narrative review summarizes findings from 168 publications spanning 56 countries on students' outcomes school climate as well internal assets contextual supports that promoted academic well-being during pandemic. This study investigated the factors influencing student engagement in asynchronous online classes, focusing on roles of instructor presence, communication strategies, and demographic profiles. Data were collected from 385 college students employing moderated mediation with parallel mediators. The results revealed significant direct effects presence strategies engagement, highlighting pivotal role these shaping learning experience. Specifically, stronger effective corresponded to higher levels emphasizing importance fostering supportive interactions facilitating meaningful virtual classrooms. Mediation analyses further clear pathways through which influence engagement. Perceived instructional support emerged as a robust mediator between underscoring significance establishing environment. Additionally, technology self-efficacy played modest yet mediating impact students’ confidence utilizing for academic purposes. While moderation did not reveal profiles relationships key variables, findings underscore universality teaching practices across diverse populations. Building upon comprehensive attitude framework proposed by Garrett et al. (2003, p.3), which encompasses cognitive, affective, and behavioral components, we employ a quantitative design with survey approach.
