Abstract
Ulcerative
colitis
(UC)
is
currently
the
most
common
inflammatory
bowel
disease
(IBD).
Due
to
its
diverse
and
complex
causes,
there
no
cure
at
present,
researchers
are
constantly
exploring
new
therapies.
In
recent
years,
nano-selenium
particle(SeNP)
has
attracted
wide
attention
due
excellent
biological
activities.
Therefore,
in
this
study,
for
first
time,
we
used
a
natural
polysaccharide,
Eucommia
ulmoides
polysaccharide
(EUP),
modified
SeNP
get
EUP-SeNP
with
size
of
about
170
nm,
effect
on
3%
dextran
sulphate
sodium
(DSS)
induced
was
explored.
Our
results
showed
that
colon
intestinal
histology,
mucosal
barrier,
cytokines
microbiome
composition
were
changed
after
treatment
mice.
Specifically,
it
also
shown
oral
could
relieve

by

Biodegradable
chitin
is
the
second-most
abundant
natural
polysaccharide,
widely
existing
in
exoskeletons
of
crabs,
shrimps,
insects,
and
cell
walls
fungi.
Chitosan
chitooligosaccharide
(COS,
also
named
chitosan
oligosaccharide)
are
two
most
important
deacetylated
derivatives
chitin.
Compared
with
chitin,
COS
not
only
have
more
satisfactory
physicochemical
properties
but
exhibit
additional
biological
activities,
which
cause
them
to
be
applied
fields
food,
medicine,
agriculture.
Additionally,
due
their
significant
ability
improve
gut
microbiota,
deemed
prospective
prebiotics.
Here,
we
introduced
production,
properties,
applications,
pharmacokinetic
characteristics
COS.
Furthermore,
summarized
latest
research
on
antioxidant,
anti-inflammatory,
antimicrobial
activities.
Research
progress
prebiotic
functions
particularly
reviewed.
We

analyzed

underlying

Background:
An
animal
model
of
DSS-induced
UC
has
been
widely
used
in
basic
research,

microbiome

Scope
Changes
in
composition

intestinal
microbes
