Rhus typhina, an invasive plant species, contains valuable compounds that can be utilized in various fields. The main aim of this paper was to find the optimal conditions for extracting high amounts bioactive from R. typhina fruits using ultrasound-assisted and bead-beating techniques under different parameters (solvent concentration, solvent/solid ratio, extraction time, bead size, material). A Box–Behnken design applied extraction. following process were found optimal: 20/1 ratio (v/w), 61.51% aqueous ethanol, 10 min with a composite desirability 0.7719. HPLC profile indicates p-coumaric acid most abundant phenolic compound BBE extract. extract subjected vitro biological tests. results indicate antimicrobial activity on Streptococcus pyogenes (20 mm inhibition zone) Salmonella enterica (12 zone). hemolysis rate 19.85% at concentration 1000 µg/mL sheep erythrocytes. We report first time protective role cell viability human gingival fibroblasts, but also weak antiproliferative effect HepG2 liver cancer line. Overall, we conclude are rich recovered proper conditions. Further research is required understand valorize their potential.

Abstract The invasion of Rugulopteryx okamurae along the southern European coastline is producing significant ecological and socioeconomic impacts. Its rapid proliferation high adaptability have cause severe ecosystem disruptions, displacing indigenous species altering habitat structures. Various factors, including favorable environmental conditions chemical defenses, contributed to its spread. This situation has prompted urgent interdisciplinary research implementation management strategies. Regulatory frameworks been established address invasive status, aiming control bio-invasion. Valorization strategies could contribute sustainable marine biotechnology advancements. R. presents a wide variety valuable molecules in internal composition, such as alginates, terpenoids or carotenoids, with potential biotechnological applications.
