Blueberries
are
highly
prone
to
postharvest
decay,
resulting
in
significant
nutrient
loss
and
economic
damage.
Current
research
on
the
storage
of
blueberries
primarily
focuses
techniques,
while
underlying
mechanisms
remain
insufficiently
explored.
To
further
explore
role
exogenous
melatonin
(MT)
delaying
senescence
blueberry
fruit,
this
study
treated
fruits
with
sterile
water
(control)
300
μmol·L−1
MT
during
pink
fruit
stage.
After
maturation,
were
stored
at
4
°C
for
30
days,
we
investigated
effects
quality,
reactive
oxygen
species
(ROS)
metabolism,
antioxidant
enzyme
activities,
expression
related
genes.
The
results
showed
that,
compared
control,
effectively
delayed
increase
decay
rate
decline
firmness,
enhancing
total
soluble
solids
(TSS)
content
ascorbic
acid
(AsA)
levels.
It
also
reduced
accumulation
malondialdehyde
(MDA),
hydrogen
peroxide
(H2O2),
production
superoxide
anion
(O2−),
maintaining
higher
activities
ascorbate
peroxidase
(APX),
dismutase
(SOD),
catalase
(CAT).
Furthermore,
treatment
upregulated
enzyme-related
genes
VcSOD1,
VcSOD2,
VcAPX3.
These
findings
indicate
that
treating
stage
improves
alleviates
oxidative
damage,
delays
senescence.
This
provides
a
theoretical
foundation
practical
reference
preservation,
laying
groundwork
